Description

Simple to install and easy to operate, this shut-off switch ensures that everything is disconnected. Attach the switch to either the positive or negative terminal of your battery and the cable to the switch. Then unscrew the knob and take it with you to disable your car and discourage thieves.

This item is rated at 500 amps surge and 125 amps continuous at 12 volts.

Installation Instructions


1. Be certain all accessories on vehicle are off (i.e., interior lights, under hood lights, etc.)
2. Remove Battery Cable from Negative Battery Post.
3. Clean Battery Post and inside Cable End.
4. Slip Clamp end of Switch onto Negative Battery Post and tighten securely.
5. Slip Battery Cable onto post end of Switch and tighten securely.

Use Instructions


To Disconnect: Turn green knob 1/2 turn counterclockwise.
To Reconnect: Turn green knob clockwise until secure.
To Prevent unauthorized vehicle use: Turn green knob counterclockwise and remove.

Note: To preserve vehicle computer settings or radio station settings, install Battery Shut Off Switch Fuse Link when battery is disconnected. This will allow enough current through to maintain settings, but will not allow vehicle to start.

Always follow all instructions and warnings and wear proper eye, ear, skin and respiratory protection. When using chemicals always consult MSDS and product data sheets for proper safety precautions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Battery switch I like the way that it has that plastic piece in between the two connections, that I only need to turn the green knob a few turns, to disconnect the electric continuity. I purchase this device, because my rear electric air suspension would periodically run, even with the key off, I would end up with a dead battery. They even supply a 10 amp fuse the keep the low draw clock and radio presets on memory.

So I added one to my order for $4.00 and I now have two in hand. :( Does installing the Fuse Link not defeat the purpose of slow battery drainage? The diameter of the cable side is 1mm smaller than the diameter of the battery post side. My cable clamp could not be sufficiently tightened, unless I added a sleeve.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job It is as advertised. However it could use a little more material on the square head side both on the bolt and the clamp to keep it from turning. I needed a second wrench on one of the three I purchased but I will be buying more for use on my antique tractors. It will be a problem at the time of removal since there is so little head to put a wrench on once the unit is corroded.

Questions & Answers

Since the positive post is larger than the negative can this switch be used on the positive terminal. Will the automobile cable fasten to the terminal on the switch

Would this work on a travel trailer battery

As long as the battery is a top-mounted terminal style battery and fits the 5/8th of an inch diameter you should have no problem using it for that application.

I'm away from my car for a month or more at a time stop my battery from draining if I dont use the fuse?

When you turn the green knob to disconnect the power, or remove the green knob all together, your battery will not drain
