Customer Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome nozzle! Great coverage, loved the nozzle. Two cans gave me about 4 good coats for my two sections. If you only mixed and provided car paint in the spray cans minor projects would turn out perfect. Thanks for the product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Coverage, Great Value Like Other reviews, there isn't a ton of material in these but i was able to get three good coats onto my motorcycle tank. It sprays excellent and the ability to choke down the pattern via the nozzle is awesome. Really good spray tip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good product 1 can was enough to spray 4 large fender flares on my Chevy Silverado. Coverage was smooth. I painted a silver base coat 2 stage with a clear coat polyeurothane. finish was excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good stuff I bough two of these cans. Had the chance to use them over the weekend. While they dont have a lot of material in them they do cover great pretty much like a spray gun. Used them to spot prime some repairs i did. I wont hesitate to buy more which i will soon :).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2K is the way to go Best rattle can primer I have ever used seems to be very tough and bonds well

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2k is the way to go I bought a bunch of this to primer my vehicle - after doing a lot of body work - it went on easy. I did have to sand epoxy (that covered bare steel) first since there was a lot of days between epoxy and 2k primer. My only suggestion is each bottle come with an extra spray tip - I had to pull some off some spent cans to get some of the cans to continue to spray. Considering I sold my compressor recently - this was perfect alternative. ***Top quality product***

Rated 4 out of 5 by from pretty good been using this a couple times on my project just to prime some spots so they donr rust any further untill i get it to my body shop. works pretty good and like others have said theres not a whole lot of primer in the can so it doesnt go real far. seems to be good otherwise. drys good, covers good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but costly This spray filler works well. I had no issues with the nozzle and it emptied flawlessly. The problem I have is that your not getting much product for the price. Because you need to use the whole can within 48 hours, you need to plan out using it all. So, either you never have enough or you potentially waste it without the perfect scenario.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but needs a new nozzle! I've used the epoxy 2k sprays numerous times with good success and went with the urethane version this time around. It could just be the batch but I orders 3 cans and all 3 had the same issues. 2 sprayed for a few passes and then clogged and the other never even sprayed. I'd soak the nozzles in paint thinner and get a few sprays before clogged again. This was with proper shaking/activation. I ended up using a nozzle from an epoxy primer can and was able to blast through all 3 cans flawlessly. Sprays well, goes a long way, but doesn't build quite as well as the epoxy primer in my opinion. Overall I'm pleased but the nozzle problem I'm hoping was just a fluke of bad ones. If you can get the nozzle to spray and want urethane primer it is a quality product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked out great for me. Thought I'd give this a try. The instructions on the can recommended spraying in a "vertical" position (although the website description left that part out). I had to spray it in a horizontal position and I too experienced splatters with both cans I used. No big deal, normal block sanding smoothed everything out. I would use this 2K primer again without hesitation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Stuff! This primer is waaaay better that the other 2K grey primer eastwood offers. Lays down very well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth while product I bought the paint for touch up after wet sanding the primer on my car. I didn't want to set up my sprayer just for a few spots. Yes it is a pain shaking the can for 4 minutes. But, the paint is just as good as Eastwoods primer you must spray. Very strong. I still have a spot on my finger nail from when I sprayed over 2 weeks ago. HAha. The can did spit once or twice, but I needed to wet sand afterwards so no big deal. Overall it's worth the money if you only need to paint a small area.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great adhesion, but not enough paint. I am satisfied with the primer, but after buying a few cans of 2k paints... Eastwood needs to make the cans larger. The paint doesn't cover enough for one can.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst I've seen! I don't know if I was the lucky guy that got the bad can or what but I had a very bad experience with this product! After activating the contents I attempted to use it as directed. What came out was a cross between a spray and a squirt... The primer just dribbled down the side of the can and made a huge mess! It didn't last 2 or 3 minutes before it was empty. You're rolling the dice if you buy this product. You might get a good can but you could also get lucky and get one like mine!

Questions & Answers

Would this be good to use on a new fiberglass part before paint, such as a bumper cover or hood? How much area does one can cover?

Asked by: ChrisN
This would be fine to use over a fiberglass part. Once can will cover about 10 SQ Ft for the 2-3 coats.

Can the 2K high build urethane primer be applied over the rust encapsulator to give better protection?

Asked by: Michael
It could be applied over the rust encapsulator after about 24 hours. It wouldn't necessarily give better protection. It would allow you to block the area smooth though.

is this product good for spraying on bare metal and over scratchs

Asked by: jeepie
It will cover up to 180 grit sand scratches, but not directly over bare metal. You should use epoxy primer first over bare metal, and then the urethane primer.
