Questions & Answers

Will using Walnut shell media for graffiti removal on concrete walls harm or pit the concrete in any way? What would be the best grit for this application?

Asked by: Scott
You will not want to use walnut shell media for concrete. The best media to use would be a soda media.

Will this work with a siphon type blaster?

Asked by: john19
That depends on the blaster. Of the blasting equipment we carry the one which feeds this larger media well is the Speed Blaster. https://www.eastwood.com/speed-blast-gravity-feed-blaster.html

Does this work for removal of power coating?

Asked by: fireshark
Walnut shell will not be aggressive enough for powder coating. Powder can be very difficult to media blast off by itself. We recommend using a paint and powder stripper first to "damage" the powder to make blasting much easier. Then finish off with a glass bead or aluminum oxide media.

What is the recommended Nozzle size and pick up hose size to use with Walnut shell?

Asked by: GHOSTRIDER
To minimize any chance of the media binding up we recommend using the largest nozzle size possible for blaster you are using. Example 5mm.
