Politely, and maybe already answered: so if I have NO holes in my table yet . . . then I would need to drill some 5/8" holes, or quite a few 5/8" holes in my table to use this item effectively?
How many holes you drill is entirely up to you. It only needs one to work. Welding fixture tables are filled with holes for adjustability to suite any project.

What is the diameter of the post on this clamp. I am thinking of using it to clamp materials on an anvil, and the Hardy hole in my anvil is 1 inch. Thanks.
