The Eastwood 12 inch Box and Pan Brake is a precision engineered metal working tool designed to produce accurate, variable length bends in angles up to 135° in mild, 20 gauge sheet steel and 18 gauge aluminum in widths up 12”. Create complex shapes such as floor reinforcement channels and ribs, sections of corrugated pickup bed floors; truck bedside panels, inner fender structures and much more, all with one convenient bench-mounted tool.

Safety Information
This tool is considerably heavy. Use extreme caution when mounting or dismounting when using a vice or other temporary fixturing arrangement. Personal injury could occur if tool is dropped. Pinch Hazard. Keep fingers away from moving parts when operating. Wear appropriate work gloves and protective clothing. Sheet metal will often have sharp edges which can cause cuts to hands and arms. Wear appropriate eye protection. Metal chips can be ejected during the bending process.

Beyond expectations
It stated 20 gauge but can easily do 16 gauge cold rolled steel. I haven't used it for a prolonged period of time and don't expect to continue the use on thicker gauge materials but it does work beyond the criteria specified.

The 12” Eastwood Brake is an excellent tool for bending small sheet metal ductwork. It offers portability to bring on jobs for small ducts, & custom sheet metal angles. Great investment and will last a lifetime.

Great product
I picked this up to work in some metal projects I was working on. The saleswoman in the Edison store suggested this brake and a shear vs the 3 in 1 unit I was looking at for the types of work I was contemplating. I’m glad she did. This is a great small bender and the fingers really make it versatile for compound and technical bends.

Capacity better than advertised
Impressed with the weight and function. Regarding metal gauge thickness, this little brake bends 22 gauge stainless steel (6” wide) without any problem.

Questions & Answers
What is the bend radius created by the tooling on this brake?
The teeth on this brake come to an edge, so its not exactly making a smooth radius. Since this is only for 20 gauge steel or thinner, any radius present will be very small.

Will this bend brass strips .064 think and 3/4 in wide? That's the same as 16 gauge but it's much harder than aluminum
With that surface being harder than aluminum we would not recommend this machine for that use.

Will this took bend 22 gauge stainless steel that is a maximum of 6” wide?
THIS TOOL IS RATED TO BEND 24 GAUGE STAINLESS STEEL.

Will this unit bend stainless steel stripe of 16 gauge 3/4" wide in to a 90 degree bend?
This would not be able to bend 16 gauge stainless. Unfortunately as state din the description the stainless rating for this tool is 24 gauge.

Can this bend 3" wide - 1/16" thick hot rolled steel at 90 degree?
Unfortunately this tool is only rated to bend up to 20 gauge steel.

I need to make sleeves approximately 7 inches high and 6 inches square. Will this unit do this? These sleeves protect the bottom of 6x6 post from damage. Thanks Paul V Haddaway
This unit will not have the ability to make the sleeves you are referring to. It will only bend about a 1 inch lip without hitting the machine. It sounds like you would be better to look at our Versa bend brake.
