Sucked
I followed all directions. Shook can twice as long as directed. Shot multiple light coats and my gas tank primer acted like it had no hardener in it. Stayed rubbery and i had to sand it all back off of all the parts because i didn’t trust it. Gummed up a lot of sand paper getting it off. Guess results depend on what gets spayed first and last?

Overall been very impressed with Eastwood products, I have a TIG welder and plasma cutter that are awesome. I ordered a can if 2k grey. I first lightly coated my metal panels with 2k grey primer, which was more silver color. The grey 2k base coat was very dark grey (my fault, I should have looked closer at the color swath). The base coat can had a very nice, wide spray pattern, but splotchy, did not cover well without 3-4 passes. I ran out after painting 2 3x4' metal panels. So you get about 24 sq ft for $25. A can of Rustoleum covers almost double that. For the $$$ I can 2 stage a base and clear coat auto urethane a lot cheaper. So... not real impressed.

Questions & Answers
I am thinking of using the 2k gray on some old cast iron suspension arms that have surface rust. How would you suggest prepping these parts. Sandblast then epoxy prime? Rust encapsulator after wire brushing, then epoxy prime? Thanks
Tw approaches: Use our rust convertor first ITEM # 51483 EASTWOOD RUST CONVERTER
or Sandblast, wipe down with a pre-paint prep.then Rust Encapsulator. Epoxy prime (Let cure 3-4 day) then top coat.

How long should I wait between coats?
This will have about a 5-7 minute flash period in between coats if applied in ideal temperatures.

How does the 2k spray gray #54295Z hold up to gas and Dot 3 break fluid?
Because this is a 2k or catalyzed product this coating will offer you a great deal of fluid resistance.

Can I spray the Eastwood 2K aerospray gray over the top of Eastwood self etching primer Gray?
You should not spray Eastwood 2K paints over lacquer based self etching primers. The Eastwood 2K paint(54295Z) should be sprayed over an Eastwood 2K Epoxy primer(14149z).

Would this work on a heavily ridden mountain bike durability wise?
Yes, this 2k Catalyzed urehtane based coating will be extremley chip resistant and durable. We, would still recommend top coating it with the 2k clear for best UV stability though.

How does the "Eastwood 2K AeroSpray Spray Gray" compare to the "Eastwood 2K AeroSpray Spray Detail Gray". Is one lighter or darker? Are there any other differances.
Detail gray is designed to match bare steel while Spray gray will be a darker cast iron look.

We would recommend using the epoxy primer.

Would this be good as a wheel paint?
Yes, this could certainly be used as wheel paint. We would highly recommend using a clear coat over the top of this.
