Eastwood 2K Ceramic Chassis Black Satin and Activator

Product Overview:

Description

2K Satin Ceramic Chassis Black — our most durable, chemical-resistant, and easiest-to-spray Chassis Black yet!

Complete a frame restoration or custom build with a high-quality coat of Eastwood 4:1 Chassis Black Paint. This is simply the best DIY frame paint for rust prevention and show-worthy looks. As a two-component coating infused with ceramic, it provides leading protection against UV rays, chemicals, chips, scratches and swirling. The activator helps it harden faster so you’re ready for a clear coat, undercoating or to just get out on the road. A 25-30% satin gloss gives the paint a light sheen that complements the rest of the vehicle.

To use Chassis Black, simply mix the paint and activator thoroughly, then apply using one of our HVLP spray guns. A one-quart can of 2K ceramic paint covers roughly 50 square feet when applying two coats, which is ideal for small vehicles and partial restorations. You will need two quarts of paint and activator for a full-size vehicle frame. Apply this chassis black coating over Eastwood 2K Epoxy Primer or Extreme Chassis Black® Primer for the best results. We provide a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee on your paint job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect satin Black Great poroduct. I first used this on a 90 rear axle I had built from quick performance and loved the finish and it was rough as nails. I used the recommended primer with it. I loved it so much I bought more and used it to refinish the underhood of my 1957 Chevy. Again using the recommended primer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! applied using a TP Tools air turbine. using medium activator, with the warm air provided by the air turbine, paint was flashing too quick, also, did not have gun properly set. i'm a novice. Once I adjusted the settings, the paint went down nicely and looks very very nice. Matches almost perfectly with my satin powder coating i use from Eastwood as well as whatever brand the shop used on the larger parts. looks like a brand new car. i painted the front clip of my 70 Camaro a few years ago and it has been stored inside, in a warm room, paint has had plenty of time to cure. Even tho i probably didn't have the gun adjusted properly, it still looks brand new. Just did my rear springs. Looks brand new. Had a local shop re arch and assemble the springs and the fresh ceramic paint held up well to the abuse of putting the springs back and installing the front bushings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goin Commando I have used the 2k ceramic engine paint with great success, and the chassis paint did not disappoint. Sprays out nice and the high gloos is not over glossy, but that might have to do with spraying over tacky POR15. It looks great. 1973 Jeep Commando

Can this be used over Eastwood OptiFlow Epoxy Primer? How long do I need to wait before applying it over the primer? I plan to brush it on suspension parts after the primer.

Asked by: Oleg
No, Eastwood 2K Ceramic Chassis Black Satin and Activator is not recommended to be applied with a brush or roller. It will need to be sprayed with a paint gun for best results. You can use Original Chassis Black or Extreme Chassis Black, if you need to brush or roll it to apply.

Eastwood 2K chassis black and activator can it be used on fiberglass. The powder coating question was a mistake sorry about that

Asked by: vern
Yes, the Eastwood 2K Ceramic Chassis Black can be applied to properly prepped fiberglass. Ensure the surface is thoroughly prepared by scuffing it with 320-600 grit sandpaper and testing a small area before full application. If lifting occurs, remove the lifting paint, sand the surface, and seal it with a primer before applying the 2K Chassis Black. I would best recommend sealing it first.

Will 2K chassis black need to be thinned to spray? If so, what do I thin it with?

Asked by: Tom S
The 2k Ceramic Chassis Black does not need to be thinned to spray. However, if you would like to- it can be cut up to 20% at a max with our Urethane reducers.

Can this product be sprayed directly over Lizard Skin Ceramic Insulation (which you sell) or do you need a sealer/primer over that first? Lizard Skin guys say you can go directly over their product with 2K Urethane, no primer.

I'm going to spray my firewall, inner fenders, and subframe with this. Is this product also a good choice for the metal portion of the dash/cowl in my second gen Camaro? Or would a satin black base/clear be a better choice for the dash?

Asked by: Daniel
Its your decision, either would work. Satin black with clear wouldmake it more glossy than satin, unless you used matt clear.
