Dented Parts WasherFunctionally the unit is fine.. same as the 20 gallon unit it is replacing. However it came with major dents on both the long sides. One would hope to obtain a pristine product when new.

Good washer. Needs improvementParts washer itself looks good and runs good. Major issues with packaging. Opened box and all the Styrofoam was cracked and in tiny pieces making it a nightmare to clean out. Second the legs and the holes did not line up at all. had to drill the holes out a little larger so the bolts that came with lined up. Once together the pump works fine. I have been cleaning parts since with no issues.

Perhaps we are unlucky.Though the price was competitive, shipping was late, when it arrived, the screws/bolts were in a bag that had a massive hole in it which led to screws going everywhere, and when testing the pump it did not work. We opened the pump up and identified that it was broken (photos below). Since we purchased this parts washer to satisfy the demands of a particular contract, we fixed the issue ourselves and continued to make it work. Very disappointed and after $60 plus dollars to ship, we will take our business somewhere that can provide a quality product. This is one of several Eastwood products that we are less that satisfied with.

Parts Washer with a splash. (OK if you like a shower in solvent).Used this for the first time today and am exceedingly disappointed. The pressure of the solvent coming from the pump is MASSIVELY too high, with the result that you can not direct the jet onto any hard surface without splashes everywhere. I cleaned a cylinder head during which I had to point the solvent jet to the side and then dip the brush in the solvent and clean the head accordingly. That is not the way a parts washer should work. You should be able to direct the jet directly onto the area you want to clean so the (light) pressure of the solvent washes away what you have disturbed with the brush. I spent more time cleaning up the surrounding workshop area , (and myself) than I did cleaning the cylinder head. It could also be improved with the provision for a light to be mounted in the lid to illuminate what you are cleaning and the ability to change the solvent jet to a 'hollow' brush that feeds the solvent to where you want it via the center of the brush, but that would only be of use with a less powerful solvent pump. I'll be looking for a way to slow the solvent flow down and will look into voltage reducers. Maybe if I knock the voltage down to about 80v it might be more use-able. Eastwood, it's a Parts Washer NOT a Pressure Washer.

Water and steel don’t mixPaint delaminated from tank, rusted out a pin hole, leaked and destroyed garage floor.
Lid spring rusted.
Total waste of money. Only way salvageable is to maybe line tank with pond liner.
Would also highly recommend fitting a drain valve.
is there a drain hose and valve to empty tank. instead of just pouring out into bucket .

Unfortunately, we do not offer one but it is a Drain Plug Thread Size M14 x 12 so it should be quite easy to retrofit something on there

Can I use Stoddard solvent?

The Eastwood 40 Gallon Parts washer(31875) is designed to be used with WATER BASED SOLVENTS ONLY!
Unfortunately Stoddard solvent is a chemical based solvent that is flammable and not recommended for use in Eastwood Parts washers.

What's standard practice for disposing of the cleaning solution when it's time? I'm guessing this isn't something that goes into a septic system. I don't live far from the Pottstown store. Is there a business nearby that you use for disposal?

Never dispose of cleaning solvents into a septic or sewer system. By contacting your local Municipality or Public Works department, they should be able to direct you to a chemical drop-off center in your area.

I see that this is for water based solvents only. Just want to confirm that diesel is not able to be used as a cleaning solution in this tank. We are looking for a parts washer that will allow us to use diesel

You will have to check with the manufacturer of this product to see if it is water-based or not. Only water-based cleaning solutions can be utilized in these washers.

Can I rip out the pump and the shelf and use it for an acetone soak tank? I need more depth than it offers (~15-18"), and don't need a sprayer... Incredible how difficult it is to find what is literally a simple steel box with a lid and a drain.

Does this work for paint guns

This would not be ideal as the main means of cleaning out your spray gun after use since these utilize water based cleaning solutions only- like Oil Eaters. You should really be cleaning out your spray gun with gun cleaner or Lacquer thinner after using it for best results.

Could this go on top of a table and not have legs installed?

The Legs bolt onto brackets on the bottom of the washer. The leg do not need to be installed, however the washer will be about 3/4" above the table.
