I have 3 of these in my auto repair shop for over a year and still doing very well. The hose is a nice flexible type with no memory or stiffness when cold. I would/will purchase more, great price.

Eastwood 50ft retractable air hose reel
It was time to replace my old air hose reel(because I got a new air compressor)and i wanted one that would guide itself onto the reel automatically because i was tired of having to be at the reel to and manually guide the hose from side to side to keep it from hanging up, but i didn't want to pay an arm and a leg so i did some shopping around and found this automatic guided reel that I could afford, i can't speak for longevity because I've only had it since may 19th but i love it so far, and as of the time of this review (june 17th) its still working perfectly, my only regret is that if i would have waited a little longer i could have gotten it at a better price.

Can this be used on boat engine cover
If you can securely mount it there I see no reason not to. It was design to be mounted on an upright wall, but it does function in other orientations.

Does this fold flat to wall? What is the weight?
This will not fold flat and weighs about 14.5 lbs. in total.

Does this unit allow the hose to stay out without tension? Will the hose stay out until the ratchet is activated to retract the hose? I just want the hose to lay flat on the ground until I'm done with it and ready to retract it.
Yes it will stay out as far as you want until the ratchet is activated to retract the hose.

What is the max flow rating?
