Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Surprisingly Great Tool I just received this tool today and I had to try it out straight away. I think that it is very well designed and built. I needed a tool to make bends in narrow strips of metal. This tool works quite well. I tried it out on aluminum (1/16" and 1/32"), magnesium sheet (1/16"), titanium (0.040"), and stainless steel (1/16"). They all bent quite easily and had a nice outside radius. I was also able to bend a piece of 1/16" aluminum, 8 inches long without any problems and was able to complete a nice bend over the entire length. This tool will allow me to make some handles for some tote trays that I am making out of magnesium plate. If you were looking for a tools to do bends without spending a lot of money, I recommend this. I may purchase two more to make a brake 18" long using my hydraulic press.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 6 inch vise sheet metal bender This is perfect for bending smaller pieces of sheet metal. I used it to make different sized patch panels for my Ramcharger restoration project and it works great. Well built too, should withstand a bunch of usage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyone needs this! Perfect for making simple brackets. Will bend a piece of 2 x.125” steel flat bar. Got my old man this tool as well and he loves it too. Much cleaner and precise bends then waking with a hammer.

Asked by: wildman
Specifications 6" Width - To be used on a 6" or wider vise 14 gauge max capacity for Steel and Aluminum 18 gauge max capacity for Stainless Steel Radius, Up to 90 degree bends. Any form of bend, weakens the metal in some form. If the metal is re-flattened you could reshape to some point.

This 6" press brake works with 6" bench vises or larger so it will certainly work on an 8" bench vise.

My vise has 5 inch jaws. Would the 4 inch vise be better or would the 6 inch vise be okay?

Asked by: dford22
The size of the vise needs to be equivalent to or larger than the size of the break press.

Can this brake make bends in metal longer than 6" by moving the sheet metal progressively?

Asked by: Randy in Riverton
The length of material doe snot matter for this tool. The width will somewhat, however you can do a piece wider than 6" but you will need to move it along and do it in steps or stages...
