One Man Operation

With the Eastwood Bead Roller Power Drive System, it no longer takes two people to fabricate a metal panel. The Drive System features a 3 Position Toggle Switch with an infinitely variable Speed Controller and Foot Switch. These features provide convenient one-person operate.

Powerful Drive System

The Eastwood Bead Roller Drive System features a powerful 1.65-amp motor with an integral 75:1 gear reduction that enables you to easily forms ½” beads in 18-gauge steel. Unlike other motors on the market, the Eastwood Drive System has a durable industrial style motor, which gives you more power then you need.

Fits All Current Eastwood Bead Rollers

Eastwood designed this power drive system to fit all Eastwood Bead Rollers and others with a plate steel frame and 50mm bearing block bolt pattern. Installation takes less than 30 minutes.

Universal Design To Fit Other Bead Rollers

The drive motor fits any hand crank bead roller with a standard shaft size, which is 25mm at the crank handle. The shaft is usually smaller where the dies attach (often 22mm).

The 1/6-horsepower electric motor and three-position toggle switch replaces the hand crank. Use the infinite Speed Control dial to set the exact rate for your forming project. It comes with a footswitch to operate the drive system, leaving both hands free to control sheets and parts.

The Eastwood Universal Bead Roller Drive turns what once were two-man projects into a solo operation. It can form bends and channels in up to 18-gauge steel just like if you were using the original hand crank while running off ordinary household current. Installation takes less than 30 minutes. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Eastwood Bead Roller Power Electric Drive System I had considered building one, however the Eastwood unit looked compact and an easy retrofit. The big concern I had was the power of the motor (1/6hp or 1.65 amp). Others I had seen were 1/3 to 1/2hp. I had the chance to try this unit in the store and it operate well with the material that was supplied for the demo. The mounting bracket offers a lot of flexibility for fit-up to other bead rollers. I just had to drill and tap holes on my bead roller then a minor bit of machining to bore to size (I wanted a tight fit) to get the coupling to fit my bead roller drive shaft (a drill of the correct size would have worked just as well). I tried it out on variouse thicknesses. On a 16ga sheet of steel (that I'm using for a firewal, and with the rollers tight for heavy embossing. Had no issues. The 1/6hp motor and 75:1 gear reduction provide ample torque. Also the 75:1 gear reduction allows you to operate a really low speed with no chatter. Only minor concern was the foot pedel. It's a solid piece, however it is small, and with my size 12 work boots on, you have to look where you put your foot. Having said that, for money (and even double the price), I doubt you will find a better unit, compact size, capacity, ease of adjustment and installation (even retro fits. Highly recommended. As an aside, I'm planning on purchasing another unit to use as a variable speed turn-table for welding circular pieces.

I had to get new bolts and spacers mine was larger than the ones that came with it but it works great. Now to fix the flex I didn't have turning slowly with my steering wheel (to slow to see) Time to save rusty iron

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not What I Expected I bought this in January, 2022 but didn't open the box for 13 months. To my surprise it didn't work! Since it was out of warranty I decided to open it up to see what was going on. The first thing I found was the speed controller was broke with plastic pieces laying in the tray. I was able to repair that but the controller still did not work. after trouble shooting the electronics I found out foot pedal was not working. I bought another foot pedal, installed it and now the drive system is working. Lesson learned even if I am not planning to use something immediately that I ordered check it out.
