Buffing Compounds Included

From polishing aluminum engine parts to restoring a brilliant shine to stainless steel, these compounds yield superior results. More is not always better, these compounds contain less filler and more abrasive than other compounds on the market, so they cut faster. Packed in a resealable plastic package that is clearly labeled for easy identification, each compound is made from the highest-quality binders and abrasive materials available.


32030 Emery – (Dark Gray) For fast cutting on iron, steel and other hard metals to remove scratches, rust, corrosion burrs etc. Use with Sisal wheels. Do Not use on gold or silver.


32031 Stainless – (Light Gray) For buffing stainless and other steels, chromium, nickel plate and some harder plastics. Use with Spiral or Ventilated buffs. Do Not use on gold or silver.


32032 Tripoli – (Brown) For buffing all base metals. Use on brass, aluminum, pewter, copper etc. Also plated surfaces. Use with Spiral or Ventilated wheels. Do Not use on gold or silver.


32033 White Rouge – (White) For final coloring on metal. Produces a brilliant high shine. Removes light scratches. Use with Loose or Canton Flannel buff wheels.


32034 Jewelers Rouge – (Red) For the highest finish on gold, silver and other precious metals. Use with Canton Flannel or Felt buff wheels for best results.


32035 Plastic – (Blue) For cut and coloring on hard plastics. Do Not use on soft or low melting point plastics like polyethylene. For cut-down, use Spiral Sewn buff wheel. For final high luster, use Flannel or String buffs.

The only size option it looks like we currently offer is a 6" wheel which can be found here on our website: https://www.eastwood.com/buff-wheel-6-in-string-3-4-in-hole.html However, these are relatively common buff wheels which I'm sure can be found locally or online such as on Amazon or Ebay.

I have a 1/2" arbor 8" flat lap with diamond discs to 1200 grit. I would like to go to at least 6000 diamond grit. Are these available?

The only question asked is about what's best for 1/2 hp motor, 6 inch or 8 inch .. you answered 6 inch. I'm confused .. the shaft size and motor recommendation for both 6 inch and 8 inch are the same. My question is am I missing something? Couldn't I go 8

You can also run our 8 inch buff wheels on an 1/2" 1/2 HP buff motor.

Thinking about buying your kit for your 1/2 hp buffing machine. My question is what size kit 6 or the 8?  I planned on using this for some automotive stainless steel hood trim.  Was he you can help point me in the right direction.
