Rated 5 out of 5 by from butter smooth I bought the Contour polyester glazing putty, and have now used it on a variety of stuff now, I am very impressed with it, it stick to surface Great, sands and feather edges great, fills in pinholes great, just an all around great experience with this stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this stuff I'm finishing up my 3rd 24oz tube of this stuff over a year long project, a 67 Caddy and I have been telling everyone about it. Only bad thing I can say is that Eastwood does not offer additional cream hardners in blue which is important as the shade mixed gives you an idea of what hardness your at when overlapping work. Other than that, I find this putty amazing for making those "laser straight" panels. This stuff cures a bit harder than "bondo" and sands a bit harder yet it's very consistent throughout making it easier for me to fine tune curves. You don't "over sand" in a couple strokes requiring a reapplication. It feathers out micro fine with a nice semi-transparent edge. Yes often it clogs the paper at the initial sanding, no big deal. I hog it down with the Hutchins then wet sand it to the beautiful surfaces seen in the photos. When finished it feels stronger, more durable then "bondo" yet it is still flexible. Fingernails don't scratch or gouge it. Primer covers it well, without sucking in the first coat leaving those dry patches. I don't think I will ever use anything else. Plus, the squeeze tube process is so easy and clean to work with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff! Ordered this stuff to try something different than my Metal Glaze and was I surprised! Its a little thicker than metal glaze and seems to spread just the same. I use it mainly for pin holes and very minor body work and once in a while Ill mix it with regular body filler to get that fill but not over the top. If you use it by itself Ive seen a few bad reviews, the thing with any glaze is that it sands likejunk if its not fully dried. Let it cure hard and it sands like a dream, hit it with 80 then finish it up with 180 and youre in business. This is now my go to glaze and Ill probably move over to most of the eastwood stuff. Im not being paid to say this, its just good stuff and it works. Once I find something I like, I stick to it and this is one of them. Thanks Eastwood!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff First time using the "Eastwood" glaze. I like getting 24oz tube for a good price. It's smooth and sands easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Filler that fills a need. I gave it 5 stars, the only slight issue is as mentioned before is it does tend to clog the paper at first sanding. I found by using 100 grit dry paper to knock off the top layer. After that it mixes, spreads, adheres, fills, and sands great. One quality that stand out for me is I use Feather Fill high build primer, the Contour glazing putty sands at the same rate, meaning I can block sand across both products and get equal leveling. Now as I recoat with the Feather Fill, the leveling is done, I don't waste time leveling between the primer and putty, I'm blocking the panel for overall straightness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth If you mike it right it is silky smooth with less sanding. Could use a larger tube of hardner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good pruduct I would recommend this product. I agree that the sanding does clog the first piece of paper but then sands right out with a fresh peice. I would say don’t be shy with the hardner on this one. I found less hardner contributes to the sanding issues. What I can say is that the shelf life on this product surpasses other products on the market. I’ve used other products that gel in the tube after it has been opened or right off the shelf from the local body suppliers. At that point it useless. I’ve use 4 tubes of this product so far and it has held up well no gelling at and been able to utilize the entire tube each time. Personally I think this is a good product and I’m about to order some right now!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from smooth sanding prepping motorcycle tank and fender, more than i'll ever need, other reviewers correct on not enough hardener for full tube, they should sell additional hardener or increase amount sent. good product. hopefully these reviews will get the attention of someone and correct problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very thin I was used to the old days when glazing putty was a lot thicker!!! I went to high school body and fender class in the 60s...and it was just thick primer!! this is a little different and takes a little time to get used to it. I found that it hardens real fast so you have to move quickly. I thought it sands fine and I would use it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No problems here I bought this product about a month ago, I did just like it said to do and used it on multiple surfaces, by itself and on top of a filler. Sanding was, well... sanding. It was easy to use, got me finish I was looking for in a very short time with a little amount of work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product was dried and useless I received 2 tubes of this after taking almost 3 weeks for delivery. Both tubes were dried up. Useless and both ended up in trash. Let Eastwood know, sent pictures and they never replied. Love Eastwood and their products but this time they get 2 thumbs down.

Questions & Answers

Is this filler compatible with the 2K ceramic spray paints? Can I fill holes when the part has been already painted with the 2K sprays and use sand paper for a second coating ?

Asked by: MaxRD
Yes you can, but you will need to sand the area where the filler is to be applied, to give the filler something to stick to.

What would be the best way to fix pitted rust and a few pin holes on the sail panel of a camaro had a vinyl top removed it and thinking of letting it off Thanks

Asked by: 406camaro
After the rust is removed from the pitting the Contour Glazing putty would be perfect to fill that in.

I used this on two large panels and evidently did not use enough hardene it has not dried after 24 hours.. Will it dry, if not how can I remove it without damaging the body filler underneath

Asked by: rich mc
This product will most definitely harden when enough hardener is used. It should harden within 5-15 minutes depending on amount of hardener used. As for removing the unhardened stuff without damaging the underlying body filler that is an almost impossible task. Any solvent you use to remove it has the chance to damage or be absorbed into the underlying filler. Your best be would be to scrap off what you can and then try to sand as lightly as possible to remove the rest.

Love this stuff, but I tend to run out of the hardener. Can I use universal hardener with this?

Asked by: Crossle17
A universal cream hardener for polyester fillers can be used in the Glazing Putty. http://www.eastwood.com/usc-red-cream-hardner-4oz.html
