The Eastwood Contour SCT® Abrasive Drum is to be used for heavy paint or rust removal applications. Each drum is 4 inches wide and 4.5 inches in diameter. 40% more abrasive material than the original SCT Abrasive Drum for longer life.

Sure wish I could go to at store and buy the consumables or the where In stock more often. 50 bucks is pretty high priced for a sanding drum. I wore it out pretty fast .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strip your paint or grain the metal! Works great for removing paint. Used this on my 59 Apache. Did hood and outside of cab using about 1/4 of abrasive. Be careful of sharp edges as it will erode the abrasive very fast. You can also use this with “touch” to grain the metal (stainless look)! This is a must have for restoration.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from jury's still out OK Eastwood: A very good product for a diy 'er but I burn through it very quickly and at $50 a pop for the 40 grit roll it gets expensive. Add to how labor intense it is and I'm seriously considering media blasting as a less labor intensive and actually less cost effective method of stripping. The 40 grit disk cleans up the lion's share of substrate contaminates but there is still some surface rust . The machine is 11 pounds. As a professional detailer I'm use to slingin' rotary buffers all day.so the weight was not critical but it could prove a problem to one who was not a strong person.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Abrasive disk for the SCT. I used the abrasive disk to clean up a rusted and dirty axle housing on a 69 Camaro for paint instead of the usual sandblasting/power coating. The disk worked well...... however, it wore quickly and lost its shape around the edges and a wire wheel would work just as good. I would buy again if it was not so expensive. The tool by the way is well built and a great value.
