Abrasive Flap Sanding Drum 60 GritThis works great to remove whatever paint is left after chemical stripping the paint. Use light pressure and keep it moving to prevent heat buildup on the sheet metal.
How does media blasting compare to the Sct? I am concerned with two things 1) cost / square foot of sct drums versus media blasting and 2) heat warping on sheet metal sct vs. media blasting.
Asked by: Bob2749
In the long run, the SCT is a more cost effective option. As far as warping the sheet metal, the sct will not warp any metal, as long as you keep the tool moving along the metal.

Which drum would be best for removing powder coating?
Asked by: SinisterJKU
We've found either the abrasive drum https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-contour-sctr-abrasive-drum-4-5-inch-40-grit.html or The expander wheel with 60 or 80 grit paper. https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-contour-sct-expanding-drum.html

Can it be used to prep aluminum hand rail
Asked by: Ironcrossfab
This drum could certainly be used to clean up and prep an aluminum hand rail. It should be noted though that this might be a bit aggressive for aluminum. In most cases our Interleaf Stripping drums are less aggressive and would probably work much better for your project.

Would this work for stripping pant off of wood trim?
Asked by: Donald
Although we strictly test for automotive use- we have had numerous customers as well as some employees here who have successfully used this SCT tool on wood surfaces. This particular drum would not be a good option though as it is very aggressive. When using on wood our Expander wheel with drums of sandpaper are the best option. This turns the unit into a drum sander to quickly remove staining and smooths the wood.
