Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from well, THIS pretty much sucks i've learned one cannot post updated reviews, after you've had experience with the item. i bought an SCT, along with the 120 grit finishing drum. haven't used the 80 grit that came with the package, but today, i used the 120, and after less than 2 hours, it broke. the adhesive holding the red abrasive to the inner core failed, and it just stopped spinning. i tried to super glue it, waiting a couple hours to let it REALLY stick, but this fix lasted about 5 seconds. great. i remain convinced this tool is loaded with great potential, and SHOULD be wonderful addition to my restoration projects, but if this nonsense continues, there may soon be an eastwood contour tool on facebook marketplace in the near future.

Would this work for removing slag from plasma cutting I do metal art and I am looking for a easy way to remove the slag from the back side

Asked by: Cgreen
For removing welding or cutting slag we would recommend using our expander drum with sandpaper wheels. https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-contour-sct-expanding-drum.html

Need to strip paint from an aluminum boat (cabin cruiser) where it is peeling and coming off. What do drums/grit would you suggest??

Asked by: DocT
With aluminum you'll want to use a less aggressive drum such as a 220 or 320 grit. Might take a bit longer to remove the paint but you'll save the base metal.

The Black Abrasive drum would be best suited for this application https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-contour-sctr-abrasive-drum-4-5-inch-40-grit.html
