BASECOAT PAINT MIXING RATIOS
Thoroughly mix four parts Low-VOC Urethane Basecoat with one part Low-VOC Urethane Activator. Use Fast (50308ZP) for small jobs, or temps below 75°F; Medium (50309ZP) for small jobs, or temps between 70-85°F; or Slow (50310ZP) for large jobs, or temps above 80°F. Keep in mind, other factors, such as humidity, air flow and total film thickness should also be considered. In many situations, it will be useful to add 10%-20% 50104ZP Zero-VOC Reducer to aid sprayabliity, flow and leveling. Remember, this is an activated basecoat system; only mix as much as is needed. Pot life is about 2 hours at 70°F.

Using EASTWOOD DAYTONA YELLOW 4:1 BASECOAT GALLON PAINT what speed of Excelerator should I use. This is my first time and in a homemade booth, and do I need to sand between each coat?  Thank you very much!!

Asked by: DP 52 F3
The speed of the activator is dependent on the temperature and humidity of your spray booth. If your booth temps are 70 degrees or less use Eastwood Low Voc Urethane Fast Activator (50308ZP) If your booth temps are 70 to 80 Degrees use Eastwood Low Voc Urethane Medium Activator (50309ZP). You do not need to sand between coats unless you see dry rough patches then you would sand with 400 grit to smooth then respray.

Is this the true color? I know images can be very different from the photos. Also with the devilbiss plus gone from your site would I still spray this @ 8-10 PSI?

Asked by: Curious Painter
This image is the true color. The pressure you want to spray at will be 25-30 PSI with the trigger pulled at the regulator which is attached directly to the gun. This will give you the 8-10 psi at the air cap.
