Eastwood Deep Lagoon Blue Basecoat Paint adds the superior durability of urethane to the ease of conventional basecoats.

  • Apply a durable urethane finish wherever you live in the continental US, even CA

  • Clearcoat is required on basecoat paints

  • Max Temperature: Paint will handle up to 300 degrees without delamination, but color shift may occur, so it should not be used in a high heat setting

Application Tips

Apply Low VOC Urethane Basecoat color in two full medium wet coats with a consistent 50% overlap pattern. Allow five to ten minutes flash time between coatts. Most colors will cover in two coats. A third and final coat may be applied to set even metallic pattern. Basecoat should dry dust free within 10 20 minutes. May be lightly sanded in as few as 20 minutes. Wait at least 30 minutes before wet sanding. Wait 45 90 minutes before taping on the fresh film. All dry times are approximate, at 70-Ý.

Can metal flake or pearl be added into the clear for this color?

Yes any of our pearl or metallic flake additives can be added to this paint or in a clear coat and applied over.

You show 2 pics for this paint. the left looks baby blue. The right looks like a light turquoise. which color is it. I'm looking for the turquoise color that will serve as a second tone to your Caribbean blue.

What clear should be used over this? User friendly and product you carry Thank you for your help

I would strongly recommend the 2:1 European clear https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-2-1-urethane-clear-gallon-and-activators.html. It is a high solids and great quality clear that is easy to mix and work with in general and has really great flow out when applying.

Will this come out shiny after a wet sand and clear coat?

As stated, this is a Base coat paint and will require a clear coat over top.
