Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eastwood Diamond Clear Satin review This is my third can and it is really good stuff. I have not seen it chip, color or fade. Plus, I use it on other painted metals and aluminum trim.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for bare metal, quick drying! I use this to protect my bare metal plasma cut signs from surface rusting. Works great! You can lay it on heavy and it doesn't run. Has a nice fan tip thats wide and comfortable for your finger, not the cheap narrow tips most aerosols come with. Drys super fast and leaves a nice smooth finish. Best product I've found for bare metal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total garbage! I wasted over 10 hours of my time and resources polishing and rebuilding 2 Holley carburetors only to have them both oxidize under this useless clear coat in less than 3 months! Safe to say that this product does NOT work as advertised! I’ve been a metal finisher for many years and l have had better results with generic clear coat products at a fraction of the cost!! I’m considerably more than disappointed!! It’s a shame that the rating system only goes as low as one star as even a single star rating for this garbage is way too generous!! To anyone considering using this trash I would direct them to a product called Nyalic..it actually works!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Clear coating polished aluminum wheels First time I have been disappointed by an eastwood product. This stuff is far from clear, dulled my wheels horribly!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total waste of time & money on bare steel Applied Diamond Clear to just-tumbbled/cleaned steel per product instructions 2 months ago. Steel is now starting to rust. Parts have to be removed again, stripped again, coated again (with something that genuinely works,) then reinstalled. DO NOT use this product on bare steel. Total waste of time & money.

I purchased some new Pontiac Rally II steel rims, they came powder coated then the centers were painted with Ames Performance wheel paint. Can I use Diamond Clear on them? Will it yellow over time? thank you

Asked by: TomC
Unfortunately we can not guarantee compatibility between our products and products or brands that we do not sell. We would have to advise you to test this on scrap metal first or on a small section before applying this over everything. This should not yellow with age or exposure.

Would this work on painted plastic lures?

Asked by: Edpage
KBS Diamond is a similar product. Everyone uses it for lure making and clear coating. You should look into it and or if need be change your formula for lures. There is a huge market out there for this.

I'm restoring a 1976 Yamaha motorcycle and I'm putting the original decals back on the gas tank and the side covers. I want to know if I can spray the Eastwood Diamond Clear product on top of the decal after it's installed and not have any issues.

Asked by: JBell7007
This product could certainly work for that application. However, something like our 2K clear would be more durable and resistant to any scratches or gas contact.

I just finished removing corrosion from 30-blade turbine aluminum wheels and polishing them with Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish. Is this something that I can apply on top of the mag polish?

Asked by: sean
Once the wheels are cleaned and all residue from the polishing operation are removed you can apply Eastwood's Diamond Clear Gloss(16105Z) or Satin(16106Z) as they are both Direct to metal(DTM) Paints. We recommend cleaning the wheels with Eastwood's Pre Painting Prep(10041Z) before painting to insure the best bond possible.
