Customer Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice cutting tool. I bought this about a month ago and didn’t need a expensive metal cutter but one that would work well with occasional use. This tool does what I need.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great saw I mostly have used this saw on 2 by 4 wood but have also used it on 1/2 inch square tubing. The only problem is the shaft and blade holder rotate side to side so you can’t cut straight.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I question the ability to cut a straight line. While cutting out a floor board, I noticed it would take off in it's own direction. I checked the blade mount and noticed that it was not square to the round guides. It also has about 5 degrees of free play at the blade.

Is there a spec on how long the stroke length is? Looking to recommend to someone who needs to cut 1/8" aluminum in a fairly straight line. They don't have an air compressor so looking for good electric they can control.

Asked by: Frank
The stroke length is 1/2".

Just reading the specs, why only 5 amps? I use sawzalls almost daily, 5 amps is what I consider a toy. Used frequently I bet the motor won't last very long.

Asked by: Doug C
This is a smaller reciprocating saw which has a smaller stroke length to do less damage to the metal. For this reason a smaller motor was able to be used saving cost and weight.

hi, how thick of metal can this saw cut without over working it? can it cut exhaust pipes etc , I try to use a regular sawzall while under car to cut pipes and kind of difficult

Asked by: mrhappypantz
This would be able to cut the same thickness as a regular sawzall. Just let the blade do the work and do not press into it and you will be fine. With the correct length blade this could certainly cut through exhaust.
