Eastwood Elite 8 Inch Heavy Duty Bead Roller

Product Overview:

Description

Heavy-Duty Rollers for Metal Fabrication

This Elite bench vise bead roller from Eastwood is an affordable way to bend and crease metal panels in a solo shop. Our 8-inch Crank Bead Roller forms strengthening ribs and channels in steel, stainless and aluminum sheets. It’s also a great method for creating flanges and curves or shaping edges. Since the tool is secured by your vise (sold separately), you’ll have one hand free to turn the four-spoke crank and the other to guide the metal. Add the Bead Roller Drive System to transform it into a motorized roller.

Each compact manual bead roller comes with a 3/8-inch bead die set and offset die set, which are the most common for automotive projects. Other forming dies and accessories are available separately. It reaches to the center of any panel up to 16 inches for making floor pans and patch panels or reinforcing existing parts. The Eastwood Garage is full of helpful videos and articles about how to use your bead roller. It has a one-year warrant and no-hassle returns so you can Do the Job Right.

Eastwood Elite 8" Heavy Duty Bead Roller Features:

  • 8" throat depth
  • Handles up to a 16" wide panel
  • Form 18 gauge steel, 20 gauge stainless, 16 gauge aluminum
  • Industry standard 22mm shafts
  • Gear-driven design delivers maximum forming power
  • Includes 3/8" Bead Die Set and Offset Die Set
  • 1 Year Warranty

One Man Operation

With the 4-spoke crank handle and the smaller size of this heavy-duty bead roller, it only takes one person to easily operate and form panels. The unit attaches to a bench vise which holds it fast as you work. And it is still big enough to make small floor pans and other commonly fabricated parts without any outside help needed. The roller can handle 20 gauge stainless steel, 18 gauge mild steel and 16 gauge aluminum, which covers what is used in most vintage and modern vehicle panels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fab On a budget It comes with dies and it’s a good product. It’s made to keep in a vise although I’m welding up a stand specific for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elite 8" bead roller I bought the bead roller for floor pans and firewalls to use on my 29 Ford hot rod build. Very happy with this tool, smooth operation and absolutely no flex. I would reccomend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be better In the process of making a Model T Speedster body - never did something like that before. Tried the 3/8 bead roller on a piece of scrap to see how it work. Made a perfect 90 degree bend in sheet aluminum. The size is all I need and the star handle made the work a one person job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy Arrived very quickly and was very well packaged. I performs much better than I anticipated and made very quick work on fabricating repair panels for my snow plow vehicle. It is well constructed and very well built. I am very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool for the Price! I was very impressed with the quality and rigidity of the roller. It's great for a small job and it mounts in your vice. When your done it takes up little room to store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 8" Bead Rollet Use the bead roller to make designs in metal. Works very well. Easy to control intricate designs. Got roller on sale for around $90. Would recommend. Bought and attached bead roller drive system. Makes handling metal to create designs easy using foot pedal of drive system to control bead roller. Quality of 8" bead roller and bead roller drive system is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice one man bead roller Bought this to make panels for the back of my 66 C10. No one offers panels that I needed for rear of cab. Worth every penny for what I was able to make using it and didn’t haft to spend big bucks at this time for a power unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool Working on a 1953 Ford F100 and there have been some items, such as custom door sill plates, that I wanted to build. Even though I don't have much experience working with metal, the bead roller makes building unique parts like this pretty straight-forward. Tools like this actually give you confidence in being able to do this kind of work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressed! This little beadroller is much better than other budget beadroller. It's much stiffer, has wider gears, the "bearings" have bushings and grease zerts, and the 4X drive handle is a big improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spot on perfect tool at the right price for the job. I am a hobbyist and will hardly ever need a bead roller. but when you do need a tool you cant skimp on quality. this Bead roller was the perfect tool for my job. I used it, boxed it back up and put it on the shelf. should I ever need it again I will have a quality tool ready for my use. I am very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very smooth operation I have not used a bead roller in the past so this was new to me. I have average to below average fabrication skills so I was hoping this tool would work for me. I was very surprised at how well the tool worked right out of the box! It came together easily and the directions were clear short and to the point. The tool itself is well built heavy duty, making beads smoothly and cleanly. I have built door panels and dash inserts for my hot rod. I intend to purchase the louvre and hole di after a little more practice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fun to use I bought the 8" bead roller to make vanes on metal leaves for a water feature. It worked out quite well and is fun and easy to use. Much better then using a hammer and chisel to follow along a line. I bought the 1/4" die and hope an 1/8" will be available soon. You can make almost any design you want . I did make a crank handle for the adjusting screw like the larger bead roller has and works much better than using a wrench.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wanted this unit forever ! I had an old home made unit I have used for years. It has an old B model Mack steering wheel driving some old quick change gears 30 inches across to some cut them myself on a lathe rollers with 1/2 inch grooving channels... It was like stepping into a new century...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Eastwood Elite 8 Inch Heavy Duty Bead Roller I was looking for a bead roller that I could roll beads in 1.75 aluminum tubing. With the stock dies that came with this tool the smallest size tubing that they could be used for would have to have a ID of 2.125". So I made my own die out of washers for the die that goes inside of the pipe. This worked out really well and I was able to roll beads in the 1.75" tubing. Quality of the tool is ok, The blocks that hold the shafts in alignment weren't machine perfect and when Locked down, the shafts would bind up. Not to the point that you couldn't turn them but enough that it would cause premature wear on the bushings that support them. I removed the support blocks and a quick machining on my mill fixed that issue. The grease fittings are a nice option to keep the bushings well lubed. Overall for the price that I got it at was well worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 8 inch bead roller. Seams well built. Still learning how to use it but happy with product.
Date published: 2022-03-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ok for the cost The frame is well built and works well. The bead roller dies left some to be desired. The rollers were dinged, it looked like someone tried playing hockey with them. Consequently it would leave imprints in the material being rolled. I ended up turning these in my lathe to clean them up and make them somewhat useful. I needed to finish a job and didn’t have time to mess with returning items.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from awesome product I just got it in and i put it to work making filler panels for my 50 chevy it works better than i had hoped it will make floors up to 16 inches wide and its a one mar operation best part is it will work with all the dies they make i have the tipping dies and next up the new trim

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good roller but not great on rollers It is a well made bead roller epesally for the price, however why Eastwood does not have the rollers for the motorized bead, available for the 8 inch manual is beyond me and really does not make a lot of since. unless this is a shamful way of trying to get you to buy the motorized one as well. would have gotten a five star if they had a hem roll set and a set of shear rollers for this one at the least.
Date published: 2020-08-11
Rated 2 out of 5 by from More quality control needed Heavy duty bead roller for the price. Tool does what it’s supposed to do remarkably well for being so small. However, when I unboxed and started to assemble I could only get 2 of 4 spokes into the spindle hub. Thread not cut deep enough into the spokes. Now I have to buy a die tool for my new bead roller. (Angry emoji goes here) If Eastwood steps up I’ll give this tool 5 stars.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fell apart I bought this to do decorative designs on 28 ga sheet metal. It came with an offset die and 3/8" round die. I ordered a 1/4" round die in addition but I received another 3/8" round die instead. The round die worked really nice and I got a nice result but noticed that the gear on the upper shaft was starting to slip and there was slight lateral movement in the lower shaft. I switched to the offset dies to test them. After about 2" of rolling the lower shaft moved out a couple inches and the gear fell off and on to the floor. I've ordered many Eastwood products and never had problems with any of them, that's why I continue to order from them. I ordered a larger roller with the motor hoping for better quality and returned this one.

I make aluminum cycle fenders and want to run a bead straight down the middle after I have it wheeled and smoothed out. I make them out of .063 . Will this roller do something like this?

Asked by: Sykesweld
As for the thickness of your fender, your right at the limit. It may take you a few passes to achieve the desired depth. The concern would be, if the edges of the fender will hit the inside of the bead roller. That would depend on the amount of curve that you have rolled into your fender.
