Eastwood 2.75" Contour DSB Dustless Sandpaper rolls are a premium aluminum oxide abrasive sandpaper featuring a specialized latex paper backing. This DSB paper offers greater flexibility, resistance to cracking, excellent edge wear, extended service life and a consistent finish. Holes in paper align with the holes in the sanding blocks and the vacuum technology not only collects more than 95% of the dust but also greatly extends paper life by preventing clogging and paper loading.
Eastwood DSB Dustless Sandpaper is a PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) backing for the Eastwood DSB Sanding Blocks. What is Dustless Sanding?

Love the Dustless Sanding Block System
This is one of the simplest tools and now a very critical tool for me. I not only have started using it on my 49 Chevy pickup, I have also used it around the house with sheet rock repairs. Sanding sheet rock inside our house is the real acid test. There was no dust to be found except for a few specks on a bit of wooden trim near the wall patch. To be able to sand without wearing a respirator is completely alien to me (as well as not sealing up a room of the house during a renovation project.) It was wonderful to leave my dual cartridge half-face unit in the drawer and I could see so much better without wearing it. The only problem that I had to overcome was learning to adjust the vacuum from my shop vac downward. Too much vacuum and you can't move the sanding block. Once I got that figured out, it was smooth sailing. I especially am looking forward to when I start in earnest sanding down the multiple coats of filler on the 49 Chevy. I was dreading sealing up the garage to contain the dust from entering into the rest of the house. Keep coming up with neat ideas. I need everyone of them!

Works very well, significantly reduces dust
I saw a demonstration of this by an Eastwood employee at Carlisle & was impressed enough to get one. It works very well, filler dust is significantly reduced. I still wear a dust mask but I no longer look & feel like I'm covered with sanding dust when I'm done. This won't make sanding filler suddenly fun or less tedious, but it won't be as messy. That's a win.
This comes with a block, a hose with an adjustable valve. It has an adapter with air control to connect the end of the hose & smaller vac hoses. It has a 2nd larger adapter for connecting to a 1.75” vac hose. The shop vac isn’t included of course.
The sanding block itself is lite & stiff but has some minor flex - about the same as a Durablock. I was concerned the hose coming out of the middle of the back of the block might be annoying but it didn't interfere with my using the block at all.
It does use specific sandpaper (available from Eastwood) which has holes to match the holes on the vacuum plate. Lining up the holes was easy. Eastwood has a good supply of grits between 80 & 400. Once I dialed in the vacuum the paper didn't load up as much as regular paper. When it eventually loads up just remember keep the vacuum running as you clean the paper (ask me know I know).
The hose is long enough to keep the vac out of your way when using it & is pretty flexible. I didn't have any problems feeling like I was tugging the vacuum around behind me.
The instructions give details with adjusting the airflow/vacuum based on sandpaper grit. The hose has a valve on it to control airflow & the adapter (between the hose & the vacuum) has rotating ring to increase or reduce vacuum. The instructions give really good starting place based on grit, a little fine tuning on the fly & dust is seriously reduced.

I could not believe that it worked so well. Dust problems, not any more. Ease of use, weight, and versatility are all excellent! It for sure is one great purchase.

Is this paper perforated for exact size, or cut to length? What is best method to cut paper?

What type, brand vacuum works with this? Also do you use the filter bag that comes with my vacuum? I would think that the filer bag for the vacuum would be needed or there would be sand dust shooting out of the vacuum exhaust.
I have found that the bags for drywall sanding works best for finer dust particles. You just have to remember to pull the bag more often, turn it inside out and use an air gun to blow out the buildup to keep it fully functional. The yellow shop vac bags for drywall sanding are available at most building supply stores that sell Shop-Vac accessories.

The DSB comes with an 11 inch block, I believe. What would be an appropriate length for an highly contoured surface; a VW for example?
It really depends on the panel in question. The 11" block is a great compromise, that's why we built the kit around it. All the blocks have ample "give" suite contoured panels. The 11" and 16" are great on larger panels with gentle simple contours (doors, roof, hood often times too). If you got a little VW like a Bug you will likely find use in a 5" block for the smaller areas such as the fender's area behind/in front the arch, delicate work on the highly compound contoured hood and wheel arches, for example.

How does the vacuum work sanding primer instead of coarser body filler. How fine can you go with the sand paper. Do you have 600-800 grit?
