Description

Save Money with PSA Sandpaper for the Contour DSB Dustless Sanding Kit

Eastwood 2.75" Contour DSB Dustless Sandpaper rolls are a premium aluminum oxide abrasive sandpaper featuring a specialized latex paper backing. This DSB paper offers greater flexibility, resistance to cracking, excellent edge wear, extended service life and a consistent finish. Holes in paper align with the holes in the sanding blocks and the vacuum technology not only collects more than 95% of the dust but also greatly extends paper life by preventing clogging and paper loading.

Eastwood DSB Dustless Sandpaper is a PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) backing for the Eastwood DSB Sanding Blocks. This flexible abrasive sandpaper is for dry sanding only and is great not only for large flat surfaces but also for sanding shapes, edges, and contours. Keep your garage and yourself clean when using the Eastwood DSB Dustless sanding kit that allows you to get laser straight panels without the mess!

Perfectly Straight Panels with No Mess Using the DSB System

  • Sanding rolls are 2.75" wide and a generous 40.50' (13.5 yards) in length
  • Vacuum technology greatly extends paper life by preventing clogging and paper loading
  • High cutting power, very high stock removal
  • Extra flexibility in the finer grits
  • Very long working life time and superior finish
  • Anti-static and dust-repellent
  • High performance on hard materials
  • Great for sanding bodyfiller and primers
  • Even use for sanding drywall to keep your house cleaner
  • One roll will often complete an average car. Use two rolls for larger cars. (multiple grits are typically required)
  • When sanding, start with coarse grits and work to finer grits for best results

What is Dustless Sanding?

Dustless sanding uses a specially designed block with holes that align with holes in sandpaper. A hose connects the sanding block to a shop vacuum with an adapter to match the hose sizes. A regulator in the hose line allows you to adjust suction to get the best results no matter the substrate or grit of sandpaper you are using. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps your space cleaner. Good quality blocks. They are rigid but comfortable to use. Working around the hose takes a minute to get used to. They do cut down on the sanding mess in a big way. These blocks are nice since my garage space is used for everything.

Have you tested these products with fiberglass? I'm repairing a large crack in the hull of a fiberglass boat, it would be great to cut down the mess!

Can you use it to wet sand?

    Asked by: Derby
No, the Eastwood Elite Contour DSB system is designed specifically for dry sanding. The sandpaper used with this system is optimized for dry sanding, and the vacuum system is intended to capture dust generated during the process. Wet sanding is not compatible with this system as it could interfere with the vacuum functionality and the sandpaper's performance.

What type, brand vacuum works with this? Also do you use the filter bag that comes with my vacuum? I would think that the filer bag for the vacuum would be needed or there would be sand dust shooting out of the vacuum exhaust.

    Asked by: Mike C
I have found that the bags for drywall sanding works best for finer dust particles. You just have to remember to pull the bag more often, turn it inside out and use an air gun to blow out the buildup to keep it fully functional. The yellow shop vac bags for drywall sanding are available at most building supply stores that sell Shop-Vac accessories.

The DSB comes with an 11 inch block, I believe. What would be an appropriate length for an highly contoured surface; a VW for example?

    Asked by: Steve
It really depends on the panel in question. The 11" block is a great compromise, that's why we built the kit around it. All the blocks have ample "give" suite contoured panels. The 11" and 16" are great on larger panels with gentle simple contours (doors, roof, hood often times too). If you got a little VW like a Bug you will likely find use in a 5" block for the smaller areas such as the fender's area behind/in front the arch, delicate work on the highly compound contoured hood and wheel arches, for example.
