Specifications
The rated Duty cycle refers to the amount of welding that can be done within an amount of time. The Eastwood MP200i has a duty cycle of 20% at 200 Amps for 230 Volts and 40% at 90 Amps for 120 Volts. It is easiest to look at your welding time in blocks of 10 Minutes and the Duty Cycle being a percentage of that 10 Minutes. If welding at 200 Amps with a 20% Duty Cycle, within a 10 Minute block of time you can weld for 2 Minutes with 8 Minutes of cooling for the Welder. If the Duty Cycle is exceeded, the Welder will automatically shut off, however the fan will continue running to cool the components. When a safe temperature has been reached, the Welder will automatically switch the Welder output back on. To increase the duty cycle you can turn down the Voltage Output control.

What The Pro's Think - Brian Kurtz - ASME & API Certified Welder
"We put the MP200i through its paces, overall, it’s a great machine. TIG, MIG, STICK, arc control was awesome, stable and consistent across all processes."
Miller® vs Eastwood® Elite MP200i: MIG - TIG - STICK - Which is THE BEST Welder for the Money?
"Welding with these welders, we had both machines at the same settings. Both are very comparable, but in my honest opinion, Eastwood would be my choice." Comparing MP200i to Miller Multimatic 215
"Am I good to give my opinion that I like the Eastwood better? Because honestly I do" - Comparing MP200i to Miller Multimatic 215.

“I hope you are enjoying your summer. I have been using the Multipurpose Welder and have been very impressed with the mig function it has a very stable arc and the spot timer is a very handy add on . The stick function works as it should I burned about 10 rods of 1/8 7018 building some work tables at my friends shop. After you get used to the old school scratch start on the tig it has a nice stable arc and works great on thicker metal and I used it to build a killer railroad anvil you can see on my insta page. I would be more than happy to pay a little more to have a foot pedal but I honestly think this machine at this price point is a great deal.”
