Use the Golden CAD kit to replicate the look of Golden Cad plating. This kit is economical and easy to use. It’s just a three-step process that you can do in your own driveway. Lay down the golden base and then use the red and green to lightly tint the part. This achieves the perfect “new” look for brake boosters, caliper brackets, striker plates and more. You spend so much time and money on performance components and paint, this is an easy way to cover the smallest details and make your project complete. Easily customize and restore parts and hardware on your automotive projects without the big cost. The complete kit includes one 12oz can of golden tin, one 3.5oz can of red tint and one 3.5oz can of green tint.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from nice-looking finish for the price; very easy to apply I've finished a few engine parts with this system and have achieved good results but with two modifications. 1) Do not apply the gold paint "until full hiding is achieved," as per the instructions. The finish will look more realistic if some of the metallic sheen from the metal surface shows through the gold paint. 2) Do not wait for the gold paint to dry before applying the red and green tints. That way, the red and green colors blend more smoothly into the gold as the paint dries and will have a more realistic cad-plated appearance. The diamond clear provides a very smooth finish for painted parts (I've used it on other parts, as well), but seems to take away some of the realistic appearance when applied over the gold/red/green of this system. I applied it over the fuel filter (as the accompanying photos show) as added protection around fuel systems, as I plan to wash my engine frequently. Overall, a good system that is very easy to apply that fills the void for a cadmium-plating substitute.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK but not great not as expected Looks OK in the bright sunlight. Followed the instructions but did not turn out like the demo video. It just doesn't pop like the video demo unit did and that is what I expected it to look like.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from pretty good , better than just palin old black paint I followed the instructions and it came out pretty good. Gold color was good and had that touch of red and green tint like it should. I did not expect it to look like a Gold Cad one ordered for $250 to $400 and it does not, however, it looks much better than just painted black or whatever.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Silver abse I had an old gold cad system that was left over from a car my brother in law did. It used a silver base. (Four Steps) The new Cad system is a three step, Gold, Red and Green. The video shows using a light grey primer fo the base. Mine turned out too Gold looking compared to real gold cad. Using a silver base and then using lighter coats of gold to let some silver show through makes it look more real. It is still the next best thing, but it takes some practice and some experimentinmg to get it right. Ken

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not really Cad...close but you can tell I have used also on a couple of drivers and it clearly looks like paint and not true cad. I have also judged cars at large events and this type of coating is a real no no with points deducted....again for a true show car. If you are going for a real show look, you need authentic cad, not paint. However...it would look ok for local shows where they really don't care too much in many cases. Easy to use and goes on nice..

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not even close.... Great idea, poor execution.... First off the gold base is metallic and dull, the green chromate is the same. Gold cad-plated parts are shiny,not metallic. The base should be a shiny finish like 'chrome' spray paint, and the red and green highlights should be tinted clears - like the red in this kit is. This will work on small hardware, or parts that aren't easily visible. If you use this kit on parts that are right out in the open, expect to be disappointed. Eastwood sells lots of great products - this just isn't one of them....

Rated 2 out of 5 by from worthless This paint is terrible. I can't get it to go on smooth like every other spray paint I've ever used. I've tried prepping the metal different ways, bare metal, different primers. No matter what it's lumpy and fish eyes everywhere. Now I have to strip it all off and use something else. For me, not only is it not worth $55, I wouldn't use it for free. My first experience with Eastwood products, I'm not impressed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed I'm not happy with the results! I followed the instructions and shook the cans vigorously before applying each color and coat. There is much to much flake in the paint to make it look like the real plate finish.
