Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3/16 works perfact this tool work great the only big down side is the pice for the DIY toooo costly if the retail was 35.00 - 40.00 I would have bought 3/16 and 1/4

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool I purchased this tool to use when making custom brake lines to fit an older car that no one reproduces lines for. Tool works great! Now I need to buy a couple more sizes to use for making fuel lines. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful tool to have Nice tool to have around the shop and better than hand straightening

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tubin It I straightened 30 feet of 1/4 inch stainless steel tubing and ten feet of 3/16 stainless steel tubing fro a complete make of brake lines for a 1964 K10 truck. It takes a little skill on how to apply pressure to the tubing using this tool to get a fairly straight tube with a slight curvature. A little high on the price but a great time saver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great results I re-tubed a classic Corvette brake system and bought one of these to do the job. Just like the online video, it straitens the tubing out very easily and does a nice job of it. It cost a few bucks but if you want results that you can be proud of instead of excuses, get the right tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! Works Wonderful! Get One Saw a demonstration on YouTube, didn't believe it, but it really works that easy and that well. I used mine on copper 3/8 OD refrigerator tubing (soft copper) and it was awesome! Much better than trying to roll it or pound it straight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive...but indispensible. This is a great little tool. It is pricey, but if you've ever tried to use two boards to straighten coiled pipe, you'll appreciate this tool. If you carefully unroll pipe and then apply this tool you will have almost ZERO waver in a straight run. It is the difference between pipes that look hand bent and those that look like they've been machine jigged. Very pro. The only negative is that all straightening MUST be done before flaring/nuts. So if you make your lines up, add your nuts and flares, and then want to give the final product another go over to get out any kinks....you can't do it. The rollers aren't designed to go over the flares. Still, I'd buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very handy This thing works fine on plain steel. The bow people are talking about it a long curve. I could bow it either direction by how I held the tool. The end results are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! I have already used it twice and my neighbor borrowed it for his project. Works as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works perfectly! Bought this unit to plumb a 4 wheel disc brake system using 3/16" stainless steel tubing. I bought a 25 foot coil of it. This unit is built STURDY and obviously to last. What can I say, it works like a charm
Date published: 2015-04-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick, easy Used this on 3/16 NICOP brake line, the tool took a tight coil of tubing and with only a few passes made it rod straight. No problems with what others said as a "bow" left after using. Worth the price
Date published: 2015-04-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as described! Used for making all the lines on an and F350 and worked perfect. still a very slight arch in the tubing but way better then straitening by hand. i would recommend anyone that does any type of big brake line job to use one of these tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought one at the SEMA Show. After using it & seeing that it does exactly what it was designed to do, I bought 3 more to sell to customers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saves time and delivers professional results Very cool tool. No more wavy gravy brake lines. This thing works perfectly and is well worth the money. Sure beats slapping, pounding, flattening, and all the other crud you'll be advised to try. Just buy the tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good tool! Tested on a roll of brake tube, and it makes it really straight. If the tube has been bent before it's harder, but still improves the look of the tube significantly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked excellent I was reluctant to purchase this because of the price and planned on making my own like most guys. This thing works great!!! I used it for 3/8 NiCopp which comes in a coil. After using this tool, my lines are super straight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from not a home run not a home run but it does a pretty good job. Found I still would have to do some massaging.
Date published: 2016-09-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did the job Worked as advertised on 3/16" stainless steel. Had no issues with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tubing Straightner Hi I like the tool for steel and aluminum;; does not work for stainless as I was told. Will not take the bow out of stainless; needs an adjustment to put extra pressure to over tweak the stainless to straighten;; I made my on tool for stainless;; simple and works
Date published: 2016-05-25
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well This tool will strengthen the tubing well but not perfect. I feel it is priced to high for what it is and does. That being said it was the cheapest I could find for what I needed. It does as advertised, and I'm pleased with the results I've had.
Date published: 2015-12-10
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Saved me a lot of trouble. The only way it could be improved would be to hinge it so that flared lines could be run through it. my brake pipe came coiled and this tool quickly makes it straight. as long as at least one end is not flared.
Date published: 2015-11-05
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works but..... It does straighten the line but marking a straight line with a Sharpie pen it doesn't as the tool rotates slightly as you move it along the line.

If it is one size fits all, then why do they sell three different sizes?

Asked by: KenE
Each straightener is for a specific size tubing (it is not one size fits all). We do offer a vise mount straightener that can do multiple sizes.

Is this tool a one size fits all or does it have to be adjusted to each of the three specific sizes that it is suppose to handle?

Its a one size fits all you would not need to do adjustment to the various sizes its able to do.

Does it come apart, i.e. can you re-assemble it over a tube instead of sliding it over an end? Most pre-bent brake line vendors have to bend their longer lines for shipment - thus requiring straightening midway and in between other bends in the line.

Asked by: kansascarguy
It can come apart, they are held together with hex screws.

Is there a tubing straightener for 1/2" OD copper pipe tubing?

Asked by: AJ72
Although not the same design, we do offer this unit which can handle light wall 3/16" - 1/2" tubing. http://www.eastwood.com/tube-straightener.html

Would the tube straightener work on insulated pipe or would it scar the insulation?

Asked by: jam13
I spoke to one of our engineers and this was his feedback. "Not knowing exactly what type of insulation is on the pipe, I would expect it would likely mar the surface of any coating applied to the pipe. Also, I am not sure the tubing would actually fit through the tubing straightener with a coating or insulation on it."
