Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dual voltage is the way to go When you can get the doable b**** done on sale it is absolutely the best deal out there. Even if you paid full price the gun is excellent for the home hobbyist powder coater. I will say first thing I did was take the diverter off the end as it ends to put out too much of a cloud. I use a low pressure regulator to tune in the pressure and I also have a Bank of filters on my compressor to really dry the air. If the air is not dry you're going to have problems with powder coating. Since I code a lot of yard tools I like a very heavy coating so I typically preheat the The project after it has been thoroughly cleaned. The powder starts to flow on contact and I can tell that I am going to get a full thick coating. The dual voted scone does everything I needed to do and I recommend product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PCS 250 review Being new to the powder coating world, I did research, and found this gun was the biggest bang for my buck. Have used it, and it is simple, and foolproof-just the way I like things! Would recommend in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only lasted ten years The little dual vote voltage switch on the front of the control box broke. I tried to fix it, but I couldn't. The entire gun wouldn't turn on after that. If the switch was still good, the gun probably worked fine. The little plastic switches a little bit chincy it only lasted ten years. No replacement parts available. Tried to replace it with a harbor freight powder coat gun. The gun was so bad I took it back. Eastwood powder coat gun had me spoiled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gun after simple upgrades Great powder coat gun. A little slower to powder than super expensive guns but gets the job done and looks the same as parts powdered by our powder coating service. We added a bunch of upgrades and highly recommend checking out the upgrades here: https://www.royalcoatspowdercoating.com/eastwood-accessories

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality purchase So I'm pretty new to powder coating, but, it's easy to say I'm pleasantly surprised and happy with my purchase of the pcs-250. I have two small gripes about it, one I wish the cords were longer, and the other is if you fill the cup halfway or more. The powder comes out to heavy and not consistent. If you keep the cup under half full, it sprays powder evenly and super consistent. Overall I super happy with my purchase so far I've had nothing but good results and experiences with it. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to get into powder coating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding I have used this powder coating gun for at least 10 years. Single voltage and dual voltage. It has served me well. Does an excellent job. I believe no need for the more expensive unit. The dual voltage unit has stopped working after 10 years, so got my value out of it, hence the replacement. It is really good value at the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beyond expectations This worked great! I wasn't sure it was, as there are no indicator lights, but getting the electrode too close to the work gave out a nice reassuring spark. Super easy cleanup compared to regular guns, and having the finished job tack free and ready to go as soon as it cools is tremendous. Happily I had an extra old stove for an oven, so easy setup. Love the low air requirements. The accessories kit was very complete and got me up and running fast.

Do you need a G4 filter for this? I can only find MERV rated filters and I am not sure if those are right. Also if the more available MERV filters work, which rating is best and do you still need to spray the Hot COat Tack Spray?

I guess I will have to answer my own question since no one did. Upon some research it looks like either Merv 7 or Merv 8 are a good replacement for G4.

Has anyone tried using this dual voltage powder gun to powder coat lead cast projectiles? I've had decent success coating them using the wet method but this would be WAY simpler... IF it works better to coat leadcast projectiles

Asked by: KingD
Yes! I use this almost exclusively for powder coating cast bullets. I made a 10" x 12" " 1+1/2" high wooden stand, with 18" hardware cloth on top to place the bullets on, allowing the PC to flow around the bullets. I stand them all upright. The bases do not get much PC, but the sides and top are outstanding. I shoot a lot of pistol.competition, and I find this eliminates the need for the traditional grease lube.

Do you have transformer so I can use Eastwood PCS-250 Dual Voltage Powder Coating Gun on 230v in Norway?

Asked by: Hans_Kr
Have you tried to build a motor generator? You take 230vac 50hz motor and use it to drive 220vac 60hz motor. The motor speeds need to be identical. The 60hz motor has to draw more current than you need. We in the us use this method to drive 3 phase equipment with only single phase is available. The key is to find a 110/220vac 60hz motor that has the amperage you need. Most motors are like a transformer. They don’t care which direction the current flows.  You can take a step up transformer and hook it up with the output voltage and her step down voltage going out. Problem is your neutral comes from the actual input side. So if you take a 3phase 120/208 to 480vav transformer there is no way to get 277vac because of no neutral. I probably confused the heck out of you. You need to get an ac motor that takes 120/220 vac to run it and hook another motor to drive the first motor. As long as the first motor is rated at the current draw you need then the input wires to that motor become output vac to power the different vac/hz device.

I recently bought the PCS-250 dual voltage and was wondering if the voltage toggle switch it supposed to light up when pressing the button? On my PCS-150 there is a red light that comes on which indicates charging gun when the button is pressed.

Asked by: BoltOn Mounts
From a user standpoint, the toggle switch should be an illuminated switch to show when it is plugged in and your are getting power, but unfortunately they did not put one on these. A huge overlook in my opinion.

Does this new model fix the blow-by the old bottle had where it leaks since there is no seal?

Asked by: Anon
Nope. There is no seal on this one either. They should have an o-ring in place where the bottle screws onto the gun. Mine is nearly brand new and the first thing I noticed was how much powder is leaking out of the bottle threads. Sadly, this is one of many places for obvious improvement on this gun.
