Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny Love the helmet. Well worth the investment. Not even a huge one either, I just like being cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I bought it, worthwhile purchase The helmet is lightweight, the head straps hold it in place firmly without giving me a headache. I thought I'd have to dial the filter up to maximum dark, but that isn't the case at all. Using it mostly at lighter settings, it works great. I figure the darkest setting are for industrial construction type work with high power equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as Advertised This is my first welding helmet so I don't have anything to compare it to. Works as advertised, easy to use and comfortable to wear. This helmet has controls on the inside, probably worth the extra money to have the controls on the outside. Works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent visibility My first welding helmet. Does what I expect and provides infinitely better visibility than the "standard" view helmet I was borrowing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a difference a good helmet makes. I bought this about 6 months ago, but kept using my old helmet, it is a name brand that I bought with my welder, sadly it cost more than my new Eastwood. So I was welding yesterday and I always thought something wasn’t right, just couldn’t see my welds. I broke out the new one and what a difference it makes to be able to see your welds, lol who would have thought. The view with this helmet is awesome, and the eye protection is outstanding! I highly recommend this helmet, just sorry I didn’t start using it sooner. PS, used helmet for sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Quality welding helmet. A Quality helmet that met all my expectations. Wide clear view is a big help when starting a weld and it quickly darkens when you hit the spark. For the price you can't beat it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great helmet for the price. Awesome helmet for the price. The fit is great, the color is wsy better than my other helmet and it has plenty of veiwng window area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Nice clear helmet Nice Helmet -- At first seemed too bright. I kept switching between my old helmet and and back, but after a few lens setting adjustments I could see much better. Head harness is much more comfortable and the field of view is incredible. I will be getting cheater lens inserts, but can be worn with reading glassing under the hood. Disappointed the price dropped $9 dollars after I placed my order --Now its on sale for $20 off go get it while you can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great helmet I bought this helmet a few weeks ago. Couldn't believe how great it worked. Best helmet I ever used. Wish I would have bought it sooner. The true color is great you can see so much more clearly.
Date published: 2020-07-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!! I received this helmet for Christmas and I am amazed. Actually being able to see what I'm doing with the true color technology makes all the difference. My old helmets I felt like I was guessing where I was at. I am a very amateur welder so this really improves my welds. The only problem I have is I only have 1, a second one for my boys to where while helping would be nice.
Date published: 2020-01-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hood Bought this and am very happy with it. Much better than the old helmet I was using, night and day difference. Was a little worried about the quality because of the low price, but it seems very well made, very easy to see your bead. Havn't put it through alot yet, so we'll see how it holds up.
Date published: 2020-01-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from SUPER HELMET I should have bought this item a log time ago. My welding improved so much it is night and day difference. Do not waste your time, buy this helmet ASAP.
Date published: 2019-11-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for a great price. I have used this helmet for over a year with no issues. I have had several and this is the best. The weld pool is much clearer with the light blue tint exactly as advertised. With 4 sensors there is little chance of blocking them and getting flashed and the response is instant at 25,000 of a sec. As for problems with getting protective outer lenses just buy kits ( I get mine at Princess Auto, Canada's Harbor Freight) for a helmet that takes the same or larger lenses, keep the original for a template and easily cut to size with scissors. Cheap and only takes a few minutes. Luckily I had extra lens kits for my old helmet that the outer fit perfect and the inner just needed a slight trim. It's very important to make sure the lenses are kept clean and clear to get the best performance from this or any helmet. Highly recommend this helmet.
Date published: 2019-09-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a difference I started having trouble seeing where I was welding. As I got older (I'm 68 now) it got worse. I used to MIG weld steel and aluminum pretty good but my welds started looking less than satisfactory. I have a helmet with extra large window and turned the shade down to 10 and I still couldn't see like before. I changed the outer and inner shield and it didn't make any difference so I went ahead and ordered this Eastwood helmet. I received it today and proceeded to weld on my old Jeep project and what a difference. I set the shade to 12 and I can see good again. The view window size on this model is more than adequate. My other helmet has XL window but the difference is very minimal and you won't even notice the difference while actually using it. You can save a few dollars by buying this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hood I don’t know why I waited so long to buy an auto darkening hood. It is lightweight, has a comfortable head band, & I really like the clear view lens.

I bought the helmet a few weeks ago and loved it initially, but sometimes I have a problem with the shade not turning off when I finish welding. I have to take it off and turn the switch to "grind" for it to reset. Any suggestions?

Asked by: Chris
You can try sitting the helmet out in direct sunlight for about 3 hours, turn the sensitivity setting to the middle position. If that does not help, you can contact customer service at 800.343.9353. This welding helmet has a 2 year warranty.

Asked by: Rayplumas1
There is an adjustment shade range that will change the darkening intensity on the helmet.
Answered by: SeanW

The label inside says that it's not for low current TIG. What is considered low current , as I cannot seem to get it to darken at all, even with the sensitivity set all the way up on my Digital 200 AC/DC TIG

Asked by: JimSett
Low current TIG welding is considered to be 5 amps and below. Please contact us in Tech at: 800-343-9353 if you are having issues with an item.

To set this helmet in grind mode- you need to turn the sensitivity knob (internal) all the way down to the to the "grind" feature.

This could be due to the sensitivity being turned up too high. At this point if you're in a bright area the helmet will constantly try and darken.
