This 180-amp MIG welder with spool gun has everything you need to get started, just add a bottle of shielding gas. It includes a precision metal drive motor, regulator with hose, Tweco-style torch, tips and accessories, modern features and technology. A "Quick Setup" welding chart specifies settings for each material thickness, eliminating guesswork and assuring complete penetration.
The unit is backed by Eastwood's No-Hassle 90-day return policy and industry leading 3-year manufacturer's warranty. We even provide tips and tricks on MIG welding in the Eastwood Garage that will get you started and improve your welding.
Precision Drive Motor
The drive roller mechanism, which is the heart of any MIG welder, is designed to our high specifications and delivers flawless wire feed without skipping or slipping on the wire. That's why the MIG 180 has a quality METAL drive motor. This means you'll get a great puddle and solid welds without having to go back and "touch up" spots. Beware of other units with much lower quality equipment!
All-Around Steel and Aluminum MIG Welder
The MIG 180 comes complete (except for the gas cylinder) and is ready to weld 24 gauge to 5/16-inch mild steel and stainless. Connect the spool gun and you can also weld 14 gauge to 1/4-inch aluminum. With a 30 to 180 amp welding range, this high-quality MIG welding machine has a 30 percent duty cycle at 180 amps and a 60 percent duty cycle at 65 amps, giving you the power needed for tough projects.
The metal drive motor feeds the wire smoothly for the best operation and the infinitely adjustable wire speed and heat settings allows you to precisely control the machine. If you don't have a gas bottle, or are away from your shop, use the flux core wire for your welding project. Plus the ability to connect to either 240 or 120 volts makes this an incredibly versatile machine for any garage.

Eastwood 180 - great place for me to startBeginning welder who is pretty pleased with this system. Haven't messed with the spool gun yet, but been practicing on some coupons, made a very basic/simple window guard, and have plans to build a welding cart from a tool box. Definitely enjoying the value and features of the Eastwood, vs other options, including many more expensive.

Impressed I am!I have not run this enough to speak on durability. I believe it will do just fine for me over the years. I can speak to how much I enjoy the arc stability! Wow! I had never used a spool gun and I had never used flux core wire before. I was wondering if I could use flux core in the spool gun and then have a quick conversion for when I needed to take it outside. The flux core seems to work well from the spool gun! I purchased this machine to mostly do thin sheet metal like for body work and was very happy with how I could dial down the heat and still maintain a wonderful arc. I even tried some dual shielding (gas + flux core wire) through the spool gun and had good results. At this point I am very happy.

Great Welder!!I tried out the spool gun on some aluminum and was able to weld with it [ not purity by any means but for the first time ever welding aluminum I got it to stick and hold and it was a corner I welded together and at 260# I could stand on it and didn't even break it. As for the steel Mig side of it I love it, it's the first Mig I ever had gas on and it's the best move I ever made. I would recommend to a friend for sure. I just need time with the aluminum side of the welder.

Great little welderThis is a great little welder. I have used it in 120volt mig welding and it burned deep and a nice puddle. Took a couple tries to get it dialed in but man is it nice having a good welder.... Haven't tried the spool gun yet but I am confident it will be a good as the mig. This welder is so light. I'm used to my old thermal arc that weighs a ton....

Rookie friendlyI am probably not the best source as I am quite literally brand new to welding, and 100% self taught. However, since receiving my Eastwood MIG 180, welding has been a breeze and the unit has worked flawlessly. Following the suggested settings based on the type of welding you are doing is very simple, and the tack weld feature is amazing. I have yet to try to use the spool gun, but if it works anywhere near as well as the main machine, I have no doubt I will be just as happy with the outcome. Great machine for a very reasonable price!

MIG 180 w Spool GunFinally got my shielding gas and cranked this baby up!! First time welding in 15 years and have never done aluminum before. Loaded the spool gun up and hit it. First try looked like bubble gum!!! Tweaked it a bit, second pass was great!! Now, I’m a nobody when it comes to welding (was forced into welding when the company combined the trades) but I’m impressed with this machine. I wanted the 200i machine but it was out of stock. Now I’m not sorry I got this one!!
Thanks Eastwood

Awesome little welder for a great price!I was in the market for a spoolgun for my Miller 135. Had some aluminum work to do and needed one. Well til I went through with that, I would have been out about $2k. Then I came across this sweet combo and didn’t think twice. Been using it quite a bit, and I would give the duty cycle a better rating personally, cause it burns through stuff before it runs out of snot! The mig side of it works great too, stays consistent and looks pretty when it’s all said and done too. 5 stars from me.

Great welder for the price.I especially like the spot weld feature. I did have a problem with the regulator but customer service was great and solved it with just one call. The spool gun is exactly as pictured but this must be an older model. The instructions in the welder book are for a different gun and the instructions with the spool gun are for a 175 model welder. Not a problem after I figured out what I was dealing with. The spool gun works great, I just need to get used to using one.

Understanding and polite customer serviceThe mig 180 went on sale three days after I ordered it. I called customer service and thought the sale wouldn’t apply to me because of the timing of my purchase. Much to my surprise, Eastwood applied the savings back on to my card. Very much appreciated! I’ve been using the welder and it has performed just as described. I also feel comfortable with the 3year warranty as others that I have looked into didn’t offer that long of a warranty.
I see that you are recommending a minimum 10k generator and saying that it does not matter the type, inverter or traditional. Why is this? What is the minimum THD for this welder?

We do not have a minimum recommended THD specification for this welder. We have never heard of or encountered problems from THD on a generator.

Running the Mig 180. Can’t seem to dial in the settings for steel tubing 20m. Can you sigh yes a starting point on the settings?
Asked by: JTCC
JTCC, To help dial in the settings for your mig 180 we must first determine the wall thickness of the steel tubing. Once you have the wall thickness, you can then use the settings chart inside the machine and is on the door. I've also added a link to this chart.
https://www.eastwood.com/images/pdf/p33980h_settings_chart.jpg
For example, if the tubing has a wall thickness of .120, and the machine has .030" solid wire. a great starting point is 19 Volts, and approximately 350 in/min wire speed.
