Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eastwood- Fantastic company! I bought this lathe about a month ago and I couldn’t be happier that I did! It came right out of the box with everything to use right away. I was using it within 15 minutes of taking it out. It arrived at my doorstep like 9 days after I ordered it! The Fed Ex guy even carried it to my garage for me! Great company and I will definitely buy more items from you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mini lathe I bought this lathe 10 months ago and I love it. I use it a lot and had no problems with it so far. I just wish it had a little more torque.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs a larger hole for round stock at the jaws The jaws won’t pass round stock bigger then 5/8 thru it… It needs to come with a drill chuck so you can start a pilot for the centering chuck. The jaws only clamp about 5/8” of stock on 3/4” and larger round stock.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great but missing part. Good product, good price. Missing chuck shield, send vendor an email, never heard back.

Questions & Answers

What’s the minimum diameter the chuck jaws  go?

Asked by: Crollin
The jaws will close on something extremely small. They nearly close up entirely, and unless you are attempting to machine a 20 gauge wire I don't see this being a concern.

You sale this branded under your name but you don't carry any replacement parts for it. Why should anyone buy it? It breaks and it's junk because there's no parts available?

Asked by: Jason
Replacement parts can be obtained by putting in a Parts Request for purchase with our Sales team. You will want to email them at help@eastwood.com and include photos of what is needed.

Can I order new cutting tools from Eastwood

Asked by: Sarge
The lathe will take 1/4" and 5/16" shank tools available from aftermarket sources. I've used several different brands of carbide tipped tools in mine The lathe's bit holder fits the included tooling fine, but those are a bit under 1/4". Aftermarket 1/4" tools will more or less fit, though not go in deep enough to get rid of potential tool flex - the protrusion is longer than optimal. 5/16" shank tools clamped directly seem to work fine and be at the correct cutting height without shimming.

In reference to the video, why didn't he just cut his own threads on the lathe? It's set up to cut them and it would have saved him a ton of time!

More like lack of knowledge! He should have looked it up on YouTube, easier to make the bolts on the lathe than go through everything he did.

Can you install a nova chuck to the lathe and use it for wood working as well?

Asked by: Trey
Nova does not make provisions to install their wood chuck on a lathe with a MT3 taper, they only offer provisions for popular wood lathes. Our 7X12 lathe can be used fro some small wood working projects, but a thorough cleaning between each use is highly recommended to prevent and wood dust causing wear.
