BASECOAT PAINT MIXING RATIOS
Thoroughly mix four parts Low-VOC Urethane Basecoat with one part Low-VOC Urethane Activator. Use Fast (50308ZP) for small jobs, or temps below 75°F; Medium (50309ZP) for small jobs, or temps between 70-85°F; or Slow (50310ZP) for large jobs, or temps above 80°F. Keep in mind, other factors, such as humidity, air flow and total film thickness should also be considered. In many situations, it will be useful to add 10%-20% 50104ZP Zero-VOC Reducer to aid sprayabliity, flow and leveling. Remember, this is an activated basecoat system; only mix as much as is needed. Pot life is about 2 hours at 70°F.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Apply Low-VOC Urethane Basecoat color in two full medium wet coats with a consistent 50% overlap pattern. Allow five to ten minutes flash time between coats. Flash time should increase if additional coats are applied. Most colors will cover in two coats. A third and final coat may be applied to set even metallic pattern. If required, apply this light coat immediately after the previous full wet coat, moving the gun with faster passes, from further away. Mist basecoat onto the wet film until the metallic pattern is uniform.
Basecoat should dry dust-free within 10-20 minutes. May be lightly sanded in as few as 20 minutes. Wait at least 30 minutes before wet sanding. Wait 45-90 minutes before taping on the fresh film. All dry times are approximate, at 70°. Temperature, air flow, total film thickness and other variable may extend these times.

Aweful base coat, absolutely a waste of money.
I paint cars for a living and this is the worst base coat i've ever used. A complete waste of money. Do not buy this!!! Or be ready to resand and repaint with a different brand base coat.

Questions & Answers
Will this paint work well as a repair blend or is it recommended to repaint an entire section?
This specific color would be pretty difficult to blend in.

Can I Wet sand the mulsanne blue before I apply the clear or will it disturb the metallic color?
It can be sanded but you will be sanding directly into the flake.

Can Mulsanne Blue Metallic be painted with doors and hood off the car, or should the car be altogether?
You can spray the doors and the hood off the car but there may be a noticeable pattern change in the metallic when reassembled.
It is recommended to spray the Mulsanne Blue Metallic with the car assembled to ensure that the metallic in the paint patterns evenly/correctly and matches from panel to panel.

I have a 72 chevelle, how much paint and clear coat would I need? I will be using Mulsanne blue.
If doing under hood and door jambs we would recommend 2 gallon kits. If not- you should be able to get away with one.

Can this be sprayed over a white primer, and will it lighten the color? Also can a pearl be added to the paint with it being a metallic?
While it can be applied to a white primer it will have little to no effect as this is a solid color which covers very well. Nice part about pearl is that it is custom and can either be applied in the paint or a clear over top. Generally though it is added to clear as pearls and flakes can be hidden in the pigment of base coats.

Is this other brand of clear coat (Amazon: SpeedoKote SMR-130/75-K-M - Automotive Clear Coat Fast Dry 2K Urethane, 4:1 Gallon Clearcoat Kit w/Medium Act) compatible with Eastwood's basecoat?
Since we have never tested with other brands to ensure compatibility it would be impossible to say 100% if it will work.
