Rated 5 out of 5 by from optiflow works great Works as described. Roll on has a lot of orange peel but if you spray it on it has less orange peel. So you have to have plenty of rough sand paper. I start with 80 grit and work it gently then slowly work into 120 then 180.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't spray in your garage, use this! Eastwood's OptiFlow system allowed me to get my car ready for paint right next to my wife's car in our attached garage. If you follow the instructions, it dries with orange peel results just like it was sprayed. If your space isn't ideal for spraying, this product is perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product for bare metal. This is a good product for bare metal. I finished the bare metal to 320 grit and used this as the base primer. It adhered very well and filled in all the sanding marks. It took about 10 minutes of stirring to get all the solids that settled back in suspension. The first three panels I primed it was about 80 degrees and there was a lot of orange peel that needed to be sanded. After that I planned my priming early in the morning when it was less than 75 and it worked much better, also I got better and using the light back roll they show in the videos.

If the primer has cured for more then the 5 days and I need to apply some contour filler how should the primer be prepared? Contour premium filler? Contour aluminum filler? Evercoat metal glaze? Thank you for you time.

Asked by: Gary
All the fillers listed will require an aggressive abrasion or sand scratch for secure adhesion, 100 , 80, 36 grits would be sufficient.

Can this product be applied to fiberglass? Can a topcoat be applied without sanding? If so, what is the time delay period recommended before top coat application? Thanks

Asked by: maddog
1) Yes It can be applied to fiberglass,..." bare steel as well as aluminum, fiberglass, body fillers and even existing finishes". 2) It is not recommended to be topcoat without sanding. Sanding provides the mech. adhesion. 3) You must wait until fully cured, about 5 days since last applying the Epoxy. and sanding with 320 grit paper.

What is the window after epoxy application when polyester filler can be applied? Once the filler is sanded, what grit does the epoxy and polyester need to be sanded to for the next coat of epoxy?

Asked by: Near Enough
On average this period will be about 5 days since last applying the Epoxy. As far as sanding the Filler we would typically recommend about 320 grit paper be used.

Can this be applied to solid clear coat if only the peeling areas are sanded. Or, should the entire surface be sanded first?

You will need to prep and scuff the entire surface you are looking to cover with the Optiflow.

I have gone through all of the steps in the instructions. Do I need to sand this before applying the urethane primer? The reason I ask is that there are some lap marks that are visible.

Asked by: mattyd
Yes, we normally recommend doing a light block sanding of the epoxy primer prior to applying the urethane.
