Just what I needBought this for my Hobart 250 ci plasma cutter. This will work for it if you modify the plastic tip where the guide goes on the plasma cutter. There is a smaller diameter part of the plastic tip then a wider part. All you need to do is use a dremel with a sander. Sand all the way around the wider part of the plastic until the guide will fit. It works great for my first trial and cut a circle. Now I can't cut straight and do circles, makes things easier. Expensive for a simple design. But worth it by not trying to make something that might not work.

I should Have Invented This Years Ago!After upgrading my antique plasma cutter with an Eastwood model, I saw the video and decided the guide was worth a shot. This is the best accessory ever! Watch the video! A beginner really could follow a line drawn with a marker and get a perfect cut every time! Best of all it maintains the perfect distance from the work-piece for optimum cuts and prolonged tip life. I love it!

Exactly what I neededI did the research prior to purchasing this plasma cutter. It offered the same features as the more expensive brands. I could not be happier with the purchase. It is easy to use, and gets the job done.

Guiding a beginerLearning with Versa Cut 40 amp. Practiced on my VW floor pan free hand the first time and had trouble keeping the correct height of the nozzle from the metal and cut was wavy.
Got the Guide to cut straight lines mostly. Works excellent, I lock the guide so the wheels are inline with the cut and best position for hand hold. Guide sets the nozzle at the correct height, so no guessing or risk of damaging the tip.
Cut a perfect laser straight line first time, well worth the investment.
I'll try the circular bar after I get more practice.

Helps cut straight lines actually straight!Local steel supply houses want so much money for some of the simplest things lately... I decided to accessorize my Eastwood [40] Plasma Cutter... and Boy am I pleased! I set up a guide where I want it and slice away- 12 gage on down... heck I even was able to successfully cut 1/4" plate exactly how I wanted- I can see buying a couple of these and creating some template type tools... I believe I got what I paid for.
I haven't used it for circles, just a lot of straight & follow the guide type cutting.

Works well with my Hobart WelderI bought this knowing that it was not designed for my Hobart Plasma cutter...but for the price I figured I couldn't go to far wrong. The cutter does not fit in the designed direction...but if you flip it over...the cutting head fits right in and holds the cutting tip at the right height. I can cut either direction just by holding the tip in the cutter with one hand and holding the guild in the pre-drilled hole with the other. Takes a little practice...but I can now cut perfect circles and arches with just a little clean-up grinding. Glad I found this tool...thanks Eastwood...FireForge Art Glass

ExcellentLet me start off I knew it wouldn't work Keep reading
Simple but well-made Excellent value I knew I would have to send it to my machinist To work on my spectrum 625 extreme Going to buy one more for other machines Most my work is one-off prototype The only thing that I would have to say negative Need to think outside the box on designing To make it more versatile for other Machine Not everybody has the luxury of a machinist In their shop
Thank you.

Product works wellSurprised by the earlier reviews - The arc started with no problem using my Eastwood plasma cutter running on 120V. The instructions are explicit about positioning the plasma head in the tool. There are two positions possible - one will place the plasma head close to the surface, the other way it most likely would be too far away to strike an arc. Although I didn't have a problem cutting a circle with the current guide, Russell's comment about a magnetic/screw center holder is a good one. To keep the center point from walking around I just drilled a small hole to keep the point centered. I'm going to cobble a magnetic center point together and give that a try.

Works great but a bit wobbly.Works great for cutting straight lines, have not used it as a circle burner yet. The wheels are a bit wobbly, and sometimes bind and slide instead of rolling but its impossible to rule out operator error when that happens.

Eastwood Plasma Cutting GuideGuide works fairly well I have had Trouble keeping the adjustment rod from moving when cutting, the thumb screw should have a soft tip on it so it can be tightened with out damaging the adjustment rod.
I am using this guide on my versa cut 40 unit.

Good quality and works fineI read the other reviews and don't understand how someone could call it poor quality.
It is well made and works fine. I set up a jig that I can put on a pre-marked line and it makes cutting quick and easy.

Nice clean linesi used this to finish up a small chain saw holder for my ATV, i clamped a straight piece of metal down and rolled this right along side of it for a perfect cut. the circle cutter works great, just a quick center punch and rolled it right around. Only complaint is it needs two different size allen wrenches and neither one is included

Great item, works great!Great addition to my Versa Cut 40, work as advertised, makes easy to cut circles or half moons. U can use the cutting roller alone also for straight cuts. Great value for the price. Also, Eastwood gives a better price than anyone on line, even eBay. Shipping was fast.

Glad I ordered it when I got the Versa 60I've had this for several weeks, used it a few times and darn glad I had it. I needed a 6 inch circle in some sheet metal, made a tiny hole with the plasma cutter, put the screw for the guide in the hole, perfect 6 inch hole in about 30 seconds after that. Easy and reliable way to make perfect holes. The guide without the circle attachment is sweet too. Just roll along on the two wheels and get easy straight cuts or anything else!

Would not work when removed from box.On opening the Plasma cutting Guide the silver wheels would not turn, the shoulder screw appeared to be out of round or have high spots on the shoulder. After disassembling the wheels polishing the shoulder and the bore on the wheels it now works. This appears to be poor quality control to me. And what is a tool when you need a 2mm and a 2.5 mm allen wrench to use the tool, and you have to find one or buy one to use the tool, would it cost a fortune to supply one with the tool when purchased? Since the tool was most likely made in China the cost of two small allen wrenches should be minimal.

good in theory but bad in practice...I thought this would be "plug and play". I do not reach for this when I am cutting and drag tip has done more for me than this. I feel like with about an hour at a hardware store I could make some competitive with this for around the same price. The first time using this... I drew out the shape that I wanted to cut out and found out that lining up the cut looking from the top is next to impossible. Next drawing the lines about an inch off from the real cut is really hard for my small brain. kewl it cuts circles? dropping down a washer and tracing around is still my go to method. kewl it cuts lines? straight edges works great too.

Disappointed! The guide wheels are loose and wobbly. Not worth $50!!!!!
We do not test the compatibility of our products with other brands. However, this is attached via a set screw so would be pretty universal.

I have a versa cut 20 plasma cutter. The circle cutter guide leaves a gap to large to start an arc. What should I do. Grind the guide down to narrow the gap. Are the wheels adjustable, or different Dia to create smaller gap. Or ask for money back.

You could try turning the body of the tool upside down and see if that works. If you can not get it to work to your satisfaction, than please call our customer service line.

this product has a max. diameter cut of 17'' but I need to cut up to 24'', is there an extension or longer compass rod available?
Asked by: brian d
It is easy to make your own if you have drilling capacity. Attach a sleeve with two set screws on one end and two on the other end, guessing two to three inch bushing. Insert same size rod half way and tighten set screws.
