Eastwood Super Flakes come in a variety of awesome colors and effects. Super flakes are .004 or about 100 microns in size. Customize your project and create different looks using different color bases, Candeez and clears. Eastwood flakes are compatible with Eastwood Elastiwrap, Eastwood Candeez, Urethane clears, as well as basecoats and single stage urethanes. Packaged in 50 gram jars. Recommended add, 50 grams per gallon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun to Srpay - Hard to Photogragh First time sprayed any kind of flake or pearl added to clear. Used 2 level tablespoons per quart of mixed intercoat clear - applied 3 wet coats. Over rat rod black, 30 psi with 1.4 HVLP. Turns out more glossy if you let the intercoat clear dry overnight - then recoat it within the 18 hour window with 2 wet coats Euro clear - vs recoating right away. Either way flows out nice. The stuff sparkles and pops like its alive - like a firecracker. Photos do not do it justice.

I was a little worried this is the first time I used east woods and wow!!!! the colors it flashes is amazing I didn't think I could do this but east wood made it easy and a ton of fun thanks guys for honest and integrity and just for being there I have finely figured out how I want my 76 Trans Am to be painted after ten years and a 70 442 rag top ill send pics this is red super flakes over black base

Are the flakes and pearls able to be added to eastwood 3:1 single stage paints such as quarter mile candy red 3:1 and still come out with a smooth high gloss texture and still not need the use of a clear top coat?

The Flakes can be added to the single-stage paint. This will give a different look and color. The flakes will not "pop" as when the flakes are added to the intercoat clear and then covered with a top coat of clear. Just do a few test spray outs to achieve the look that you're looking for.

If I was to mix the flakes with a powder paint what would be a good ratio? Or would it be best to let powder paint cure first then put flake over with clear coat powder?

Due to the high cure temperatures of the Powder coat we do not recommend applying this to powder coat.

Is it better to mix with a clear topcoat or the basecoat?

The majority of all flakes, pearls, etc would be mixed in with the clear and not the basecoat

Yes, you are able to mix small amounts of flake to the powder
