Eastwood's renowned Rust Converter is available in a both quarts and convenient aerosol packaging. This high tech formula halts residual rust in its tracks and converts it into a black protective polymeric coating, eliminating the need for sanding The converted protective coating is now a suitable primer and is compatible with most top coats. Additionally the protective coating will seal the surface and prevent future rust growth. To apply, simply remove loose rust with a wire brush and apply Eastwood's Rust Converter, allow it to dry and top coat it with a quality coating, such as Eastwood's Chassis Black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rust converter Make sure you leave some rust for it to convert or it will just leave the metal sticky

I'm fixing up some inner fenders. Some areas are really hard to reach to remove all the paint, if rust converter gets on here can it be cleaned off after the curing time? Will acetone or Pre affect the reacted and cured rust converter?

Asked by: IrWeasel
pre or acetone will not affect the cured rust converter.

I have an older toyota pickup with a boxed frame that has rust inside. Since i cant get in there to reduce it, what would be the best product to spray inside the frame to stop it from continuing to rust out the frame?

Just wonder how many do I need it for all 4x4 frame ??

Asked by: Nova Tom
1 quart of Eastwood Rust Converter (51676) should be enough to brush cover a bare 4x4 frame. Should there be accessories attached to the frame that need coating the amount may increase beyond the capacity of a 1 quart bottle.

could this be used on an engine block to kill rust before painting?

This should not be used on an engine block. it will not be able to withstand the temperatures this area would subject this to.

how much time do I have to apply Rust Encapsulator after Rust Converter has cured (ie. after 48 hours of applying Converter)

Asked by: Peter
Technically there is no maximum amount of time. However the Converter is not a permeant stable surface and needs to be top coated before the piece should be exposed to the elements.
