Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rust Encapsulator Plus The Rust Encapsulator Plus was used to protect a new Range Rover gas tank shield. It covered nicely with a paint brush. Strong odor required opening the window for fresh air.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rust Encapsulator 10 out of 10 highly recommend Rust Encapsulator Plus is like hot sauce, I put that stuff on everything! When it comes to heavy equipment that gets used every day in the Florida rain, mud and water, rust is part of life. Rust Encapsulator is the real deal. I have never used a product that covered and locked in rust while smoothing the finish and was so easy to apply. (with a roller) Admittedly the spray cans are ok for tight spaces or getting inside bolt heads or around nuts but the tips always clog (that’s why they give you two tips with a can this stuff is thick) and rolling it on with a small paint roller is 100% cleaner and easier and the product goes twice as far for your money. I did my entire excavator undercarriage, everything under the cab with 2 gallons and had some to spare. Cheap insurance and it looks awesome! I am doing all my excavator and loader bucket's next and recently used it on my quick coupler and any rust spots on my komatsu loader. Finally a product that does what it says and is easily paintable with a durable finish. 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to have around the shop! I'm doing a "driver" quality restoration of 60-year-old car. A pint of this rust encapsulator is great to have around the shop; I use it all the time. Whenever I have to remove some small part, even just to reach another part, I like to give it a quick wire brushing and a coat of rust encapsulator. It applies easily with a brush and dries quickly, so it doesn't slow me down. Flat black may not be correct for Amelia Island, but it looks better than bare rust, and I like the added protection a coat of paint provides. It's an easy step I'll thank myself for later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Thinned it a little and it sprayed on nice. It goes on thick and had a little body to it. It does adhere well. I did a scratch test on 2 parts of the frame. One part I just knocked the loose rust off and wiped it own with acetone. The other part I sand balsted it to bare metal. Both areas I took a sharp Chinle and pushed against it to gouge the paint loose. The effort was the same. I also used the Chisle to make an X mark on the frame o. Both areas and then try to pull loose the paint gouging on it with a screw driver. It was stuckequally well to the sand based and the roughed clean

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding product! BACKGROUND: I am a 2nd owner of a 2005 Honda S2000, AP2. (S2K) The original owner used it as a daily driver in downtown Chicago (think salt, salt and more salt) for almost 3 years, before he started storing it over the winter, as I have been for the past 7 years. Needless to say, the amount of surface RUST was evident everywhere on the undercarriage. Body panels were sound though and I've had no structural issues. But the visual and potential long term RUST issues concerned me. SOLUTION: I did my due diligence for a few weeks and based on reviews and S2K club references, I purchased a quart Eastwood's RUST Encapsulator Plus. (REP) After jacking my car up and resting it on 4 jack stands, I hand scraped - with a wooden handle wire brush - all areas I could reach. I then went in with a 1" wide brush, and using a small bowl to hold paint. (didn't want to risk spilling entire quart), I started to apply the black REP onto the rusted areas. Even though I had a shop light, a hand held LED flashlight helped me to see into tight areas. It went on super easy and had the exact consistency to flow well. Only did a single coat....I don't think a 2nd coat would be necessary? RESULT: In a single word --- WOW!!!! The black finish really made the entire undercarriage pop! I've looked under with a flashlight a few times since and just smile. I am so happy with the results and wonder why I didn't do this sooner. Highly recommend REP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Went on easy and looks good. Only time will tell if it holds up and actually does what it says it should.

Can you use on aluminum running g boards

I’m wanting to trailer paint a boat trailer, it’s not rusty, just needs a paint job, what would you suggest I use?

Asked by: Kenmore
This question all depends on what you are beginning with? Bare metal, start with a good epoxy primer. Already coated, seal with a good Urethane Primer. Fresh water or salt water boating? Many factors are involved in making your choice of products and topcoats. A single stage paint with clearcoat would be the toughest automotive paint option.

i have a villa in the caribbean right on the ocean. the property is subjected to salt water spray 24/7 does this paint prevent rust and oxidation from the salt water on wrought iron fencing? have already tried industrial paint, didn't last 2 years

Asked by: robert
Rust Encapsulator Plus has been tested to withstand over 1,000 hours of salt spray exposure, which demonstrates its ability to resist corrosion in salty environments. This makes it suitable for areas exposed to saltwater. While it is UV stable in non-direct sunlight applications, it should be top-coated if exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods. This is important for seawalls that are exposed to both saltwater and sunlight

Asked by: Dave
The Encapsulator may get into crevices better and offer more corrosion protection if it's applied first. Yes, seam sealer can be applied over Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Plus. The product is compatible with topcoats and other coatings, including seam sealers, as long as the encapsulator has been properly cured and the surface is prepared according to the instructions.
