Great product
Thinned it a little and it sprayed on nice. It goes on thick and had a little body to it. It does adhere well. I did a scratch test on 2 parts of the frame. One part I just knocked the loose rust off and wiped it own with acetone. The other part I sand balsted it to bare metal. Both areas I took a sharp Chinle and pushed against it to gouge the paint loose. The effort was the same. I also used the Chisle to make an X mark on the frame o. Both areas and then try to pull loose the paint gouging on it with a screw driver. It was stuckequally well to the sand based and the roughed clean

Outstanding product!
BACKGROUND: I am a 2nd owner of a 2005 Honda S2000, AP2. (S2K) The original owner used it as a daily driver in downtown Chicago (think salt, salt and more salt) for almost 3 years, before he started storing it over the winter, as I have been for the past 7 years. Needless to say, the amount of surface RUST was evident everywhere on the undercarriage. Body panels were sound though and I've had no structural issues. But the visual and potential long term RUST issues concerned me.
SOLUTION: I did my due diligence for a few weeks and based on reviews and S2K club references, I purchased a quart Eastwood's RUST Encapsulator Plus. (REP) After jacking my car up and resting it on 4 jack stands, I hand scraped - with a wooden handle wire brush - all areas I could reach. I then went in with a 1" wide brush, and using a small bowl to hold paint. (didn't want to risk spilling entire quart), I started to apply the black REP onto the rusted areas. Even though I had a shop light, a hand held LED flashlight helped me to see into tight areas. It went on super easy and had the exact consistency to flow well. Only did a single coat....I don't think a 2nd coat would be necessary?
RESULT: In a single word --- WOW!!!! The black finish really made the entire undercarriage pop! I've looked under with a flashlight a few times since and just smile. I am so happy with the results and wonder why I didn't do this sooner. Highly recommend REP.

Bringing a 1996 Jeep rear axle back to life
I love this Rust Encapsulator Plus. Easy to apply and looks great. As for durability, well we will see. But for now, I am pleased. I plan on using it on the front axle as well. I have no idea why the header says some GM Product. C'mon Eastwood, if you want a review, get it straight!

Bought a quart of this for my Jeep CJ frame that’s in pretty good shape just to give it some more protection. Did some cleaning and some sandpaper scuffing just cause it’s the best thing to do. I used a 2” chip brush to paint with and glad I did. This stuff dried pretty quick and is very thin. I think the thinness is a good thing as it helps the paint ooze into the rough surfaces and seal them up. I put it in a little thin and it still coated very well in my few spots that had the worst rust. Overall it left a decent finish and seems like it should do the job quite well.

Worth the money.
Works great. I used a total of 3 pints on my ford f250 . The punt was pretty thin and spread well. The quart was thicker so I cut it with 10 percent xylene. You don’t want it thick. It covers very well thinned out. I have an 8 foot bed that I was taking off to service the fuel pump and I wanted to cover everything while it was off. It covered drive line, frame, rear differential etc. I covered everything. Did not use all 3 pints.

Frame saver!
Product was super easy to apply! I was doing a semi truck frame. I was able to roll on most areas and only used about a 1/2 gallon of product. I look forward to the next time is rains and seeing the water bead up and repeal from the frame.

Can I apply body filler over rust encapsulator plus
Rust Encapsulator Plus is designed to be compatible with body fillers. It can be used as a base layer to seal and protect rusted areas before applying body filler. If there is rust present, it is advised to apply Rust Encapsulator Plus first to lock in the rust and prevent further corrosion. Once the Rust Encapsulator Plus has cured, body filler can be applied over it.

i want to do inside rocker panels but no way to wire brush it will it still work

Does this product stick to well sanded paint or only to bare metal

I’m wanting to trailer paint a boat trailer, it’s not rusty, just needs a paint job, what would you suggest I use?
This question all depends on what you are beginning with? Bare metal, start with a good epoxy primer. Already coated, seal with a good Urethane Primer. Fresh water or salt water boating? Many factors are involved in making your choice of products and topcoats. A single stage paint with clearcoat would be the toughest automotive paint option.

i have a villa in the caribbean right on the ocean. the property is subjected to salt water spray 24/7 does this paint prevent rust and oxidation from the salt water on wrought iron fencing? have already tried industrial paint, didn't last 2 years
