1959 Apache restoration
Eastwood’s rust encapsulating paint worked great for our restoration project on a 1959 Chevy Apache. Used it on the chassis and on the underside of the hood. Then top coated with the 2K black satin chassis paint in a spray can. Also did the engine compartment with the 2K epoxy primer, top coated with the 2K black satin under hood paint. Loved the results!! Would highly recommend Eastwood’s paint products.

Rust encapsulater
I have a very rusty and somewhat intricate wrought-iron railing around my front porch. I started out scraping and sanding. I soon realized that it was going to take way too long to finish. I went looking for an alternative and found this rust encapsulater. Now I feel better about doing minimal cleaning before painting this stuff on. We'll have to wait to see how long it lasts but it seems pretty durable once it dries.

I would like to use this on a GM truck frame with the factory wax coating. Do I need to bring the frame down to bare metal for good results?
Yes, for the best results when using a rust encapsulator, it is recommended to bring the frame down to bare metal. The rust encapsulator needs to adhere directly to the metal surface to effectively seal and protect it from further rusting. Any existing coatings, such as wax, paint, undercoating and etc. can prevent proper adhesion and compromise the performance of the product.
