Eastwood's 2K AeroSpray Epoxy Primer Gray & Black

Product Overview:

Description

Use our 2K AeroSprayâ„¢ Epoxy Primer spray can to get parts and accessories ready for painting in one simple step. Eastwood developed this aerosol spray paint for DIYers who want to do high-quality work without investing in an HVLP gun. It contains the primer and activator in separate chambers. Once you activate it with the red button, the two components mix perfectly as you spray. The nozzle and valve create a fan pattern like that of a paint gun for excellent coverage.

For direct-to-metal applications, our epoxy spray primer will Do the Job Right. Choose from gray primer for body panels or black primer for chassis and frame painting. Both have 10-16 square feet of coverage with a 48-hour pot life once the can is activated. Since the paint can be stored for up to three years before activation, it’s okay to stock up and save. Check out the rest of our 2K paint for a complete aerosol-based paint job in your garage.

Eastwood 2K AeroSpray Epoxy Primer Features:

  • 2-Component Catalyzed Technology
  • Two Chamber Design Aerosol
  • Most Durable Aerosol Epoxy Primer Available
  • Sprays Like a Paint Gun
  • Available in black or gray

The innovative nozzle and valve technology, combined with its two internal chambers, ensure the right ratio is mixed every time. Sprays like a gun with a broader spray pattern than conventional aerosols and no mess to clean up. You'll achieve professional results from an easy-to-spray aerosol.

Do not apply over: self-etching primer, Lacquer
Pot Life: Approximately 48 hours after button is pushed and can is activated.

Approximate coverage: 10-16 Sq Ft

If you're sanding primer or body filler you have to check out the Eastwood Elite Contour DSB Dustless Sanding Block System that gives you laser straight panels while keeping you and your shop clean because it eliminates 95% of the sanding dust.

Since any surface rust or rust pits need to be treated before applying this 2k epoxy spray primer, what is best to use to remove rust first without media blasting the area? Can you answer this question for hard to reach areas and places you can access.

Asked by: VW Restorer
Areas you cannot access- Internal Frame coting can be used. For areas you can access- one of our Encapsulators (especially our Platinum or Plus) would works best.

I’ve been refinishing a panel & after the body was straight I applied Eastwood 2K AeroSpray Epoxy Primer. I then applied several coats 2K Aerospray Urethane Primer and blocked it. I burned thru to metal on an edge about 1/64”x1”, what do you recommend?

Asked by: TimK
You will need to seal off any bare metal spots you have. Your best bet would be to do this with a coat or two of Epoxy over everything then- to have a uniform finish across your surface to start with.

Am thinking of this to respray an interior floorpan. It’s a mix of bare metal and sanded original primer/top coat after cleaning up some light rust. How many coats are recommended, & once cured what grade sanding are recommended before topcoating?

Asked by: SteveB
Technically, we can not guarantee compatibility between our products and products we do not sell (meaning the existing finish down already in this scenario). We would have to advise you to test a small area first anytime you are applying over an existing product. However, if you would like to proceed, you should sand with 180 grit paper and thoroughly clean and degrease before applying this primer. You have up to 12 hours to top coat this directly (with out the need to sand). After about 12 hours on average, it will have fully cured and would need to be sanded prior to top coating. If applying a solid color over- then 400 grit paper would be best. If applying a metallic or pearl over then 600 grit paper would be best.

Repairing fiberglass in engine bay. Can this be applied directly to fiberglass and over some existing paint that has been sanded?

Asked by: Chadwick
If there is a gel coat down then yes. If one is not down- this would be needed prior to applying this primer. This primer is relatively safe over existing finish as long as it is properly prepped; but its always best to test a small area first.
