High Quality Synthetic Oil
Oil works well. Not surprising this compressor requires a special synthetic oil. Holds up well between changes. Changing oil per recommendations is critical with this model to keep water contamination from occurring This oil performs well. Would not use any other kind.

Is this an ISO 32 or ISO 46 oil? When I called tech support they said any Synthetic compressor oil in 30 to 40 range is fine... Standard iso grades are 32 and 46...
GeneB,
The answer from tech support that i got is for the compressor, 30 to 40 range, makes sense... ISO 32 for colder areas ISO 46 for warmer i would assume... BUT that still does not tell me if the QST oil that eastwood sells is ISO 32 or ISO 46... This question is about QST oil, not about QST compressor.

What is the ISO/SAE rating of this oil?
This
Synthetic oil – usually better for industrial applications. Non-Detergent – if it's compressor oil, it should automatically be ND. Viscosity Grade of 20 or 30 SAE – 30 in normal environments, 20 in cold temperatures.

When i drain the water from my new 30/60 the oil has red/pink color to it. New oil is not red. Is this normal? Does it ship with some special oil? Should i do full drain?
We ship the units with oil that contains a phosforencet dye so we can leak check units at final assembly with UV lights. the factory oil is red/pink, new oil does not have the dye and all is fine

If moisture is getting in the oil how can that be good for for the internals.
Excessive moisture in the oil is not good for lubrication of anything. That's why your car engine gets the oil hot enough to evaporate it. If you don't allow it time to get up to temperature you will see white moisture accumulation on your oil cap.
Similar situation happens with our scroll compressor. Those that use the compressor hard may not see much accumulation, but intermittent use will almost always experience worse accumulation. That is why we highly recommend frequently draining the moisture, which separates from your oil and accumulates in the tank overnight, before use of the compressor for the day.

Does this oil have any cilicon in it?
I do not believe silicone is a major component, if present at all. I will email you the SDS sheet.
