Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Spray Light Very handy light especially when painting the interior, bottom side, places hard to get light while shooting. Be careful not to clamp it too far forward the fan of the spray pattern can collect on it. I use it a lot. The one thing I don’t care for is that it does not have enough slack in the band that wraps around the gun nozzle. On my Devilbliss Finish Line the band barely makes it around the nozzle collar. Other than that it is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well. Illuminated works piece for quality finish. Really helped with eliminating mottling on my heavy metallic paint job. I have sprayed the same exact metallic paint prior to owing this paint gun light and found it difficult to catch all of the mottling I was introducing to the panel while spraying the base coat. If one orientates the air cap of their spray gun in the as pictured ads (horizontally) you will not catch the fan pattern onto the air cap but most painters use vertical spray patterns and when doing so the paint hits the underside of the light and collects there if you do not remain diligent on wiping it off. Base is not as much of a problem as clear coat though. The clear builds up and gums up and can drip onto your panel. I got lucky and one drip missed the panel. I was using the Eastwood Concours cc500 spray gun and the clear coat is Eastwood Show Car Clear. It overall helped improve my paint job in a semi dark shop. I do recommend it but it does need improvements, or to simply say flat out not to be used with spraying in a vertical position. The tilt and rotating functions are useless on a paint gun as it would only further block the fan patters coming out of the gun. Using it while powdercoating will help tremendously finding those less coated areas. I will still continue to use it as it did light up my work and eliminate paint mottling by way of allowing me to see better.

How do you clean it?

Asked by: Roger
Treat the cleaning process similarly to cleaning automotive paint. Use a buffing compound or polish to clean the lenses without damaging them. Solvents are not recommended for cleaning and will dull the lens.

Sounds like a great item. I was painting stuff yesterday but couldn't see where I was painting. When it gets covered in over spray, can you clean it with solvents (gun wash)?

Asked by: Dave
No, the lenses of the Eastwood Spectra-Vision Paint and Powder Gun Light are made of an acrylic material, and using solvents, even when diluted, can cause the lenses to cloud up. Therefore, it is not recommended to clean the lenses with solvents.
