Do you need to your a clear over this? I looking to spray my metal dash, and trim pieces for my 68 mustang?
Asked by: Matt
This product can go over primer or bare metal. It does NOT have to be cleared. Clear would actually change the use, function and sheen of the product.

Anybody try using this on a boat I/O out drive? I have used rust encapsulator on mine with good results. However, Mercruiser's top coat doesn't hold up well.
Asked by: DLodge
Trim Black paints are designed for Automotive trim not engines. Most trim blacks are heat resistant to around 250 degrees. Not advised but you would have to test your application.

Can this be used on the plastic fenders and bumpers of jk jeeps
Asked by: Randy
Yes, Eastwood paints, including the Trim Black - Semi Gloss, can be used on plastic fenders and bumpers. However, it is essential to prepare the surface properly for the best adhesion. This includes abrading the surface with a scuff pad or sandpaper. Additionally, using a plastic adhesion promoter before applying the paint is recommended to ensure optimal results .

I would like to use this trim paint over sheet metal. I am not stripping all the old paint off. What is the best primer to use underneath this trim paint?
Asked by: Dave
2K epoxy primer provides exceptional adhesion to various substrates, including bare metal, fiberglass, plastics, and existing finishes. This makes it an excellent base layer for trim paint, ensuring a strong bond between the primer and the topcoat.
