Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epoxy Paint Needed to paint a small area and this can fit the needs perfectly, the paint cured quickly, sprayed a test piece first and tried to scrape it off, stuff is tuff so far very pleased with this product, it’s pricy for large areas. But works very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sprays & covers very well Using a spray can primer has never been more of a joy to spray. Went on with a great spray pattern & smooth. The can says 24 hours stay in the can when mixed, well that’s incorrect I have used it four days later just to test. Worked well again.

If this has not been tested as possible barrier to gasoline vapors, do you sell (what I think will need to be a 2 part epoxy), that we can apply to High Density Polyethylene that would be a gasoline barrier for many years? Appearance does not matter.

Asked by: Brian
Unfortunately none of our Products would fit what you need.

Does this create a barrier to gasoline? I need to create a vapor barrier for gasoline within a confined space. Will this do that??? Also, can this be applied to HDPE? Thank you.

Asked by: Brian
This is simply a base primer to a paint system. We have never tested them against fuel or a vapor barrier. You can apply this to plastic as long as you use an adhesion promoter first.

Can I apply lacquer based modern automotive paint on this Epoxy primer?

Asked by: Steve
It certainly should be possible. Since you would be mixing a non catalyzed paint with a catalyzed paint we would recommend simply letting the Epoxy cure, scuffing it up, and then coat with your lacquer based paint. This will minimize any chance of reaction.

I am wanting a simple solution for painting my saddlebag lids gloss black. I don't see a 2k black except in primer or rat rod. Could I use the primer as a base coat and clear over it with the 2k High Gloss clear?

Asked by: Dave B
We do not recommend clearing over primer. Instead use this gloss black as your base coat. https://www.eastwood.com/2k-aerospray-ht-ceramic-engine-paint-gloss-black.html From here you can use our 2K clear as a top coat.

After applying the 2K primer, how much time do you have to apply a paint or topcoat of some flavor without having to scuff or sand? Especially in tight places that you may have blasted and can't really get back to and be able to sand or scuff. Thanks

Asked by: Duke
You have an open window of up to 18 hours to recoat without sanding or scuffing.

I am painting carbon fiber and need to fill in some rough sections with bondo. Question, is it best to spray the Aerospray epoxy primer on the sanded carbon fiber first, put the bondo on the carbon fiber first, or it doesn't matter which is first? Thank

Asked by: Danny
Since the Epoxy is a durable catalyzed paint it really doesn't matter which order you go in.
