Eastwood Epoxy Primer Gray Gallon 1:1 is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent primer I'm comparing this to the similar PPG DPLF epoxy primer. It sprayed very nicely with a 1.5 tip, and didn't clog the tip. Laid out nicely with no issues. I would suggest the user lay this on fairly thick as it covers great but seems to dry a little quicker than other products I've used. Maybe thin it out as recommended would help with this. Overall very happy with the results, and a great product for the price! I wish Eastwood would publish shelf life though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great epoxy primer Ordered a small two quart at first and it laid down great on my car, so I ordered another gallon kit to Colorado. Went out of town for a month and came back to find the epoxy opened during shipping and spilled out. All bummed thinking I was out of luck since it was about a month, I still called customer support and they said not a problem another can of the epoxy(not catalyst) will be on its way. A few days later the new can came, and it was popped open too :( but thankfully I was able to save it. Must be the elevation pressure change. But it was a great job by Eastwood to send me a new gallon no questions asked and didn't have to send the old dried can back. Went on my challenger great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Epoxy This really is a great epoxy primer for the money! I had never spayed epoxy prior to his and had no problem spraying it with a 1.4 tip (with correct settings). It laid out really nicely and I had no problems with orange peel either. Would purchase again if I needed to.

Do blocking primers allow painting over enamel or do I have to strip to bare metal?

Asked by: kingpinjohn
This epoxy primer can be applied over bare metal, body fillers, fiberglass and prepped existing finishes like enamel. High build primers, like our Contour polyester primer can be applied over prepped existing finishes. When coating over an unknown base, it is a good idea to strip the item to bare metal to ensure a good foundation.

How well does this hold up to the elements as it may be a few months before I can color coat? The work will be done outside in North Carolina on a 46 year old truck

Asked by: Cougarman
Our epoxy primer will withstand the weather with no issues while you are waiting to finish the paint work. Just be sure to fully coat the pieces with at least two solid coats if you plan on letting the project sit exposed to the elements.
