Eastwood Fender Roller Tool

Product Overview:

Description

The Eastwood Under Car Fender Roller is an essential DIY tool for custom body and suspension modifications. This tool gently flattens the inner fender lip, increasing the clearance between your fenders and the tires. By doing so, you’ll be able to lower the ride height without causing tire rubs. In the process, it eliminates the sharp edge so it won’t slice through your tires. Rollers also allow auto enthusiasts to run taller, wider tires and wheels by flaring the fenders to make them more accommodating. You can even use them when fixing damage to the wheel arch.

Eastwood Fender Rolling Tool Features:

  • Professional grade high quality tool for years of service
  • Durable powder coated finish
  • Delrin® ball-bearing fender-former wheel
  • Fender former eliminates tire rub by increasing tire-to-fender clearance
  • Adjustable fender-rolling roller gradually rolls the inner lip flat
  • Perfect for lowered vehicles and vehicles with larger wheels
  • Adjustable-height arm lets you work on a wide range of automotive and light truck applications

Professional-grade fender roller tool helps you easily increase the clearance between your tire and the fender, roll the fenders, or repair wheel-arch collision damage.

Our exclusive fender rolling tool bolts directly onto the wheel's hub flange. The elongated holes in the adapter plate fit all popular 4- and 5-bolt hubs. It's held in place with the included dished washers and your vehicle's lug nuts. This car fender roller accommodates up to 120.6-mm (4.75") 4- or 5-lug bolt circles. Forming arm adjustability ranges from a minimum of 14" to a maximum of 22.75" measured from the hub center to the edge of the roller.

Our professional-grade fender former is easy to use on any four-bolt or five-bolt hub. The adjustable arm fits almost any car or light truck. Use the Eastwood 1,500-Watt Heat Gun to warm up the paint before you start and reduce the risk of cracking. Those who are new to fender rolling can find more than half a dozen how-to articles and videos in the Eastwood Garage.

Warranty

NOTE - This item is Non-returnable. If defective we will replace the tool. Will not fit Porsche wheel lug bolt pattern.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of experience with this I’ve wanted one of these for 15 years. A shop I worked at back then had one we routinely used on amateur drift cars. I love this tool, and I look forward to being the dude people bum this off of in the future as I teach the next group of car nerds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Went slow with heat and it worked great! For years I was very against this and it was the reason I didn't run larger tires. I finally decided to actually research it more and figure out what to do. I went very slow and I used a heat gun. I would heat it up till it was hot to the touch, roll it back and forth and then heat each side one at a time and work on it that way. No paint chips or issues. If you go slow and use heat and I mean go slow, you should be fine. Very pleased with the product, happy to have gotten the eastwood one compared to others out there as I watched videos and there subtle differences.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roller experience on 3 vehicles Excellent quality, works well and easy to use. Doesnt work well on lowered cars, the arm is too long and you must adjust your suspention taller or install factory springs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality tool! Made sturdy and works very well! The only thing i would change is the tightening bolt for the wheel. It doesn't hold tight enough without using a wrench so i cut off the little handle part and just used a wrench instead. I would recommend getting this high quality tool to anyone needing one! It was super easy to use! Thanks again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fender roller Roller is made very well and has high quality bearings that make for an easy to use product. I chose Eastwood because in researching other lesser brands none of them were of the same quality and also required assembly to use. Great tool at a good price point

Rated 5 out of 5 by from slight change recommended roller works great. A recommended change - if you increase the diameter of the bolting plate by about 1" the holes will work for VW 4 lug drums. I had to cut the outside at the 4 locations so the 130 mm bolt pattern would fit. For my wide 5 bolt pattern it required a 5 bolt to 4 bolt adapter but these are readily available from VW suppliers or shops. I realize that most of your users are American but by this slight change you can get the older VW market also and not require cutting for proper use..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality item! Well worth the price. Listen here, I searched on many sites and did a lot of research on fender rollers. Really considered buying one of those cheap fender rollers on ebay/amazon but was weary of reviews. A lot of them stated they were not the best quality and made of cheap parts that were easily broken and striped. Later checked some forums and came across a few recommendations for the Eastwood roller and bit the bullet and ordered the item, spent almost twice as much but very glad i did. shipping was very quick and item came nicely packaged. Used later that week with a heatgun i also purchased and i was extremely pleased. Well worth it trust me, if you care about your fenders and don't want to have a roller break on you halfway through the process then look no further and click add to cart. This roller is heavy duty ! and well made, I did not run into a single hiccup throughout the process with MULTIPLE ADJUSTMENTS. works just like it should and has more than enough angles to work with. Read the instructions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fender roller For anyone saying this will not roll double lip quarter panel lips is using it wrong, I was able to roll the quarters on my 1970 Mustang, you need to use some common sense and take your time. I was able to do both mine with this tool and spent 1/2 hour on each.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought for a friend I bought this for a friend to use on my fox body mustang rear double thickness rear wheel wells before I found out that it wouldn't do the double thick wheel wells. My friend tried anyway and it worked like a champ. He's done the race car, his mustang my mustang and another friends in the span of a couple of days. He is impressed and he is not easily impressed. He has used so many tools with high praise for one thing or another and none have been able to back up their claims like this roller has.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I previously used a non brand fender roller, which seemed to work. But I needed to roll the fender even more so I bought the Eastwood during their sale. The Eastwood seemed smoother.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome This is a great tool. I was going to pay someone $75 a wheel to roll my fenders. I decided to do it myself after watching YouTube videos. I found a heat gun on Amazon and purchased the Roller from Eastwood. It was very easy and turned out great. My paint didn't crack and no more tire rubbing. Awesome tool.
Date published: 2016-06-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I roll and pull fenders on a daily basis and this was definitely worth the money. I used to use a cheap eBay fender roller that lasted me about 2 months and then broke. I bout the Eastwood fender roller to replace it, and it has been smooth sailing ever since. The glide on the roller is super smooth and the entire system can take a lot of abuse. The only drawback is that the cotter pin in the adjustment screw is kind of weak. I replaced it with a stronger one and haven't had any problems since!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool - Does More Than Designed For I used this tool to roll the double steel rear fender lips on my lowered 2003 SVT Cobra to accommodate wider than stock wheels and tires & alleviate some minor rubbing & it worked great! However, do yourself a big favor. It is important that BEFORE you use the tool, remove the threaded shaft, the cylindrical shaped piece the threaded shaft threads through & the cylindrical shaped piece the end of the threaded shaft rotates in and liberally lubricate all of these pieces with a quality grease in order to prevent binding, and stripping of the threaded shaft. The tool, as packaged, had a small amount of grease on the threaded portion of the shaft but just rotating it by hand without any load on the tool, it would bind up, a sure fire formula for failure of the shaft. The key to successful use of the tool is to work slowly, gradually increasing pressure, & the arc of movement of the tool, & use a heat gun to heat up the paint in the area being rolled to avoid cracking of paint. Eastwood should include in the basic description of the tool that it is not intended to be used to roll double thicknesses of steel, especially since the tool is not returnable except for defects. However, that being said, many, including myself, have used it sucessfully on double thicknesses of steel, which are used in the rear wheel wells of almost all cars.

Can it be used to roll the front fenders on 70 Chevy truck

Asked by: SBHR
The Fender Roller by itself Accommodates up to a 120.6 mm (4.75") 4- or 5-lug bolt circles. For trucks and cars with larger (5" to 6") 5 & 6 lug bolt patterns and up to a 4.25" center hub you would need to purchase the 25271 Adapter also. You must also make sure that it is only a single lip and not double for it to work properly.

Will this work on a 1997 Suburban? I purchased a cheapy that worked for the top half of the fender but didn't reach the front and rear sections.

Asked by: Praise the Lowered
You will probably need the " Truck adapter" in addition to this tool itself https://www.eastwood.com/fender-roller-adapter.html. Please be aware that we do not have a list of make, model etc for this tool. You will need to take some measurements and match up to the listing on our website under the description to determine if this will work 100% or not.

I already see a problem. The trim is held on with screws which would poke into the inside of the fender when lip is rolled up. Any way to work around this.? I am sure you have run into this before.

The Fender Roller is designed for wheel well openings without the screws for trim . This tool is for single layer of sheet metal.

My car has chrome trim around wheel wells. Does this pose any extra problems or concerns?

Asked by: dave
Generally when there is chrome trim around the wheel wells, that would mean that there is a double wall on the wheel well. So the fender roller will not work in this application.

Has anyone used this on a B5 VW Passat? WOndering because it says above that it "won't work with vehicles with larger hubs, such as trucks, VWs and Porsches."

Asked by: sonikgti
This warning is due to the center hole which fits over the hub. The adapter included with this tool has a hole in the center which is 73.2mm for the hub to fit through. If you need more clearance for larger hubs our truck adapter has a whole in the center which is 109.5mm large and fits bolt patterns from 127mmm up to 152.4mm.

Any wheel openings that are doubled walled are too thick and stiff for our fender roller to move. Generally just rear openings are a double walled design.

Would this work on the rear fenders of a 2002 Trans Am? From what I can tell, the lip is just a single piece of curved sheet metal, but I am not sure what exactly double walled means. Thanks.

Asked by: hal2709
The rear wheel openings on a 2002 Trans Am will be double walled. This is referring to where the quarter panel is welded to the outer wheelhouse right in the wheel opening. This makes for an extremely strong hard to move area.
