Questions & Answers

I need to sand down some runs and tiger strips to repaint. Has PremClear applied also. What do I need to do?

Asked by: CD273
If the tiger striping and runs are in the paint- you will need to sand off the clear, sand out the defects, finish with about 600 grit paper and then re apply paint and clear when finalized.

Does it need a base color for better coverage on single stage and on two stage

Asked by: Jose
It does not. This color is not considered a tri coat color or a color where a specific base color is required under.

Can I put the clear coat on like a month later because I can't afford it right this moment maybe in about a month

Asked by: Brian
Clear coat should be applied in a wet on wet application the same day as the color. This is due to the fact that you would not want to sand a metallic paint and put clear over that sanded finish. It needs to be fresh paint.

After the final coat and after it cures does it go back to shiny

Asked by: Brian
After the final coat this paint will remain shiny. We do however recommend clear coating over this as it has a high metallic content.
