EW Rubberized Rust Encapsulator Blk Aero 15 oz is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 70.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb Product A+ Use the rust Encapsulator on my exhaust line and other parts under my truck after removing the rust via a soda blast. Looks brand new, and is holding up great. All autos should be treated with this prior to being sold or hitting the road for the first time. Thinking about using is now on my iron work railing that surrounds my deck. Read the instructions and you will have awesome results!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better in this can thru an undercoating spray gun You'll find you use more product, but thru a spray gun you can apply it more accurately. I did do an area with a brush as well, which was very time consuming but you can reach places a gun with an airline attached can't reach. All stating the obvious here but that said I think this is better than the spray can. I have used 2 cases of spray cans and got them on a "deal day" as it was called... I feel it was too thin using the spray cans and required several coats. Using Eastwood's Undercoat Spray Gun, I got just the right amount of product applied in one round, much quicker! You might spend a bit more this way, but you will get superior results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works but only as good as you prep the rust I have done a 13 year old F150 and a 13 year old Land Rover with this product. Prior to spraying I converted most of the rust with Corroseal. I had to wire brush extensively and even cut out some frame rust. I also blew air into the frame before internally coating. I did three coats and used about 3 cans for each vehicle. If prepped properly it dries hard and does not come off easily. After two years some spots came back that were not prepped well. I used the same method and it is now holding after three years. Cannot complain for what I paid along with the effort applied. I also will be applying NH Oil over this each fall as the magnesium chloride used on our roads is extremely invasive.

I ordered a 2018 ford Raptor. Once it comes in I would like to undercoat the truck to protect from rust. Would the rubberized rust encapsulator undercoating be the recommendation along with internal frame coating for a new truck?

Asked by: LR355
Since it is a brand new vehicle our Heavy Duty Anti rust would be perfect in areas such as frame rails and our Rubberized Undercoating would be perfect for areas you wish to have extra chip protection.

I want to use this stuff on my rocker panels, clean the small rust spots and treat with the PRE and do the whole rocker with this.My question is can this be used on painted surfaces or does it have to be bare metal? What steps of preparation do I need to do

Asked by: JGK1966
The Rust Encapsulator products can be applied over bare metal, rusted metal, and over existing paint. You simply need to wire brush the area first, clean with our Pre Paint prep, and then spray.

After I clean my underbody and apply rubberized rust encapsulation can I apply more coats over this with the plain rubberized undercoat for more sound deadening and protection from elements ?

Asked by: Jeeperjim
Based on your plan it would actually be better to use the non rubberized Encapsulator and then apply the Rubberized Undercoating over top of that as you please.

How many cans of this would I need to do a good full job undercoating an old 95 Jeep YJ ? Thanks

Asked by: JeeperJim
The only way for us to estimate how much you will need is to tell you each can covers approximately 10 SQ FT.

Can this be used on the interior. Like the floor of the cab.

Asked by: harleymike
As long as it is not applied to areas in which you walk on you would be fine. Or if you place it under carpeting you would be perfectly fine to use on the interior.

I have a 2006 Ford superduty and the frame still has a lot of intact factory-applied coating (a black waxy coating. maybe cosmoline?) but also a lot of spots with rust. Can this product be applied over the existing frame coating?

Asked by: bfx59701
The wax/oil based coating that is down will need to be removed before you can apply this coating over.
