Use Rubberized Undercoating 18.3oz Aer for touch up in wheel well areas. One can covers about 7 sq ft and withstands up to 200 degrees F. This resilient black coating protects the surface against chips, and deadens sound. The dried coating can also be painted. To completely undercoat the underside of your car, use Rubberized Undercoating (16008 ZP) Qt. (Average 2 needed); and apply Heavy Duty Anti Rust (16017 ZP) in rocker panels, doors, and other boxed sections. Use a heat gun and dull putty knife to remove undercoat. Rated 5 out of 5 by from this is good stuff I got this to undercoat my old wagoneer. It goes on easy and sticks excellent. Very durable finish I think it will protect my baby for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I have used under coat products before. This product is great. It dries quickly, looks great, and covers very nicely. Purchase extra because you will find more areas that you want to cover than you first thought. You will need to thin the product with a little solvent to get it to spray easily.I also bought a couple aersol spray cans. This allowed me to get into some tight areas with more precision

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like It !! Restoring a 1982 CJ 7. I was looking for something to paint the gas tank skid pan and decided to try the rubberized undercoating by Eastwood. I liked it!! Easy to use, fast drying no runs. I liked it so much that I plan on using it for the whole underside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product The first time I used it was on the inside floor pan of a 1968 Camaro . When it dried it looked great a really nice black not to dull, covers great .so I ended up ordering more for under the car. Since then this product is all I use on all my restorations, all my customers love how nice it looks. I highly recommend this product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like factory new I have used nine cans on two vehicles. Very easy to use and it duplicated the factory finish. Dries quickly and applies easily when you consider what you are spraying on. Over-pray was easily controlled with proper masking. Will definitely use again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stuff This undercoating is great. I used it on mt 67 RS Camaro restoration and it has great texture , adheres great and looks uniform.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Just as advertised. Went on easy in one application. Dried quickly and matched the old undercoating very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! Just did my 4th car with this product and I find it very easy to use and clean up is a breeze. I just screw the gun on the can and only use the plastic bottle for cleanup. Make sure your car is clean and as high as possible on jackstands to give yourself more work room. Mask everything you don't want coated. It applies just like a spray can of paint. Spray from every angle, then come back from another angle and spray the areas you missed. Great product, I'll use it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smooth finish Purchased this with the hopes of a smoother finish than other brands. Tried a small spot on my frame and am excited with the results. Not entirely smooth but also not rough at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product I bought 6 cans of this stuff while it was on sale to help protect my 26 year old truck that is my daily driver in Michigan we need all the help we can get from the salt so hopefully it works

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big can good stuff I used this on my military bumper and so far so good. Only downfall is say is one can doesn't go along way. I used three cans on my front bumper. Other than that seems like good stuff and Eastwood products never let me down

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as described I bought this to say myself some time and money. Product goes on very easy and gets into the hard to reach areas, the only problem I had was the amount of coverage seems to be less than advertised on can. But maybe again I may have put it on to thick.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product Just used the Rubberized Undercoating on a set of aftermarket inner fenders. Easy to use and looks professional.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great This product is the best I have found for covering anything. I use it for inner fenders, floor pan, inside front fenders. The glossy fininh is perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, easy to use Used this product to undercoat my panel truck. I used the Eastwood spray gun for this particular application and is easy to use; just shake can good, attach spray gun and shoot. My only complaint is that their shipping department needs to better package the product; they put the product in the box with only packing material on the top and no packing material on the bottom, thus cans arrive dented... doesn't affect product but is annoying to be shooting paint from a dented can....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Professional look I used this product on a 66 t-bird restoration project, trying to match some factory undercoating. It came close, but not exact. (the fluff look probably only comes from a professional spraying) I plan to use on the remaining undercarraige. It's specs appeared to be of high quality and am hoping it lasts for years to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Good for Wheelwells Worked good for the price. I used it to spruce up wheelwell while doing quarter panel replace. Spray nozzle plugging is a potential issue. I didn't have that issue because I blew the nozzle out with compressed air between uses. If spray on thick or in high humidity, takes awhile to dry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good stuff Used this to coat the wheel wells and floor boards of my pickup... put on one coat and let it dry, then sprayed a second coat for texture and it looks great... dries hard, no gummy rubber. appears to be protecting all metal great. great stuff and easy application...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks kinda cheesy I bought a few cans of this to spray my inner aprons and wheel wells. It looks horrible when sprayed. It looks like you your car was in a fire and has that burnt look. Very glossy and the texture does not look good for a restored car. I will try chassis black instead.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Coverage Not as Advertised The can says it will cover 7 square feet; not! Maybe half that coverage; otherwise, the product works as advertised.
Date published: 2014-04-26
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor coverage The description claimed it covered 20 square feet, but it only ended up covering 4 square feet of a standard level coat. I had to order again to finish the job and it made me fall behind schedule.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good product just messy sometimes i bought this to under coat my new floor i put in my 65 mustang and it was messy but besides the mess it actually looks pretty good when it dries

Rated 3 out of 5 by from needs wider spray pattern Go's on good, but needs a wider spray pattern.Maybe you could replace the nozzel . It would help eliminate light spots
Date published: 2011-03-14
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent product, but a hassle to use The product it self is pretty decent, but due to incompatibilities with item 20441 I can't give it 5 stars. The container that the undercoating comes in is a 'tall' quart. The gun only works with the 'short' quarts - the pickup tube is too short. And you can't use the plastic bottle that's on the site either. So all in all a lot of hassle in trying to get this product to work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what Inexpected from an Eadtwood product I bought this two weeks ago, sprayed it on the underside of the washed and dried bed, rust free. (three days before) and it bubbled and dripped badly. I now have cured flexable bubbles. I was really disappointed. I have used the same product in the quart and loved it. I thought I would try the aerosol can for a small area. I wont be buying that again, I will stick with the quarts.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wouldn't spray I have the Eastwood undercoating spray kit (50369 ZP) and have never been able to get the rubberized undercoating to spray. It clogs the wand of any length, even tried thinning the product out with no luck. Either I'm missing something or the product or sprayer is no good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn,t hold on Sprayed this on top of rust encapsulator on frame of a 2008 F550 and it came off within a year. Encapsulator stayed on and looks fine. The undercoat was put on about a month after the encapsulator and the truck hadn't been on the road yet to pick up any dirt on the frame. I use many of the Eastwood products and paid the extra cost of over the counter products due to the results I've had with them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the same product as it use to be! Years ago I purchased cans of Eastwood rubberized undercoating when I was restoring old trucks. The product came in a black labeled can and sprayed nice even coats and the cans seemed to last forever! So recently when I purchased a brand new Jeep I decided to turn to Eastwood for undercoating to protect my new vehicle. Well the undercoating certainly isn't what it use to be! The product sprays like a fire hose and lays down awful!. The cans are used up in a very short time and the finished product looks saggy and uneven. I'm very disappointed in the quality of the product and now have to figure out a way of removing this stuff and reapplying with a different manufacturer's undercoating. I wish you didn't change your formula.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disapointed I cleaned undercoating area with mineral spirits and sprayed but in the rear wheel wells it came off I used a rattle can of 3m undercoating and that stuck.

This can can not utilize the 24" extension nozzle. It needs to be sprayed directly from this aerosol can or out of an undercoating gun.

This material will work well over most catalyzed paint materials. However, we cannot guarantee compatibility with other brands. Any use over those materials will require testing on an individual basis on your project.

I have a small job in a tight space where masking isn't practical. Can 16007 from the quart can be brushed or rolled?

Asked by: Nicktoe
You should be able to brush it on in the tight space you are working on. If there is any rust present, you may want to consider Rubberized Rust Encapsulator (it can be sprayed or brushed on direcly over rust). http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-rubberized-rust-encapsulator-undercoating-black.html
