Great rusty surfaces prep option. This product does a great job preping rusty surfaces where the rust is difficult to remove with scraping, brushing, or sanding. With this surface prep and some paint it helps keep it from deteriorating.

For rust, it doesn't get any better! This is the best rust converter on the market, IMO. After using this the first time, I've never used any other brand. If you're considering a rust product, this is it.

Rust Killers !As with all of the Eastwood products I've used, their Rust converter works exactly as described. Whenever I have used this product, the rust has not returned. Combined with the ease of use and multiple DIY videos, you can't go wrong with this product, and Eastwoods whole lineup of rust killers !

Easy to applyEasy to use and quick results. Applied with a spray nozzle from an old cleaner bottle and brushed it around with a throw away brush.
I replaced floor pans in my car what would you use on rust encapsulator
Asked by: Kid play 12
The best action for corrosion resistance on new bare metal is Epoxy Primer. Encapsulator could be used but is designed to fight and kill existing rust.

If I sand blast an area first and I use the converter, can I use an epoxy primer than a topcoat
Asked by: Chuck
Yes. Just be sure to neutralize the rust converter with a good pre cleaner/wax and grease remover before applying any coatings or top coats. If not you could have severe adhesion problems.

Would this be a good product to use on outdoor porch and step railings that are beginning to have rust where the paint is cracking and some peeling? What paint (spray can) would be best after treating rust?
Asked by: LBoy
This is more of an Automotive application. You would be better served to sand those areas down to where there is nothing loose, and apply one of our Rust Encapsulators. Platinum is best for this application.

What will happen if i treat an auto pannel and I get some on the painted surface?
Asked by: Jerry
Rust Convertor is designed for rust areas. Applying rust converter directly to paint can cause it to crack, peel, or discolor.

Is it necessary or a good idea to use the rust converter prior to using the rust encapsulator and a epoxy primer? Or is the convertor unnecessary when using the encapsulator? This is for light rust in hard to reach pits and crevices on bedside spot welds
Asked by: Rust123
You could well utilize both products, but be aware that both products stop and control rust. You would really only need one. If you choose to utilize convertor, just make sure you neutralize it with a PRE cleaner before applying other coatings or a topcoat.

Can Rust Convert be applied using your non-aerosol sprayer?
Asked by: Gerald
Brush on is typical, but alternatively, a trigger bottle or sprayer can also be used. It is advised not to reuse the bottle for other products or to dispose of it after use.

Would this product be good for inside auto doors?
Asked by: Eddubi
It would be ok, but not the optimum product and application. You may want to look at Rust Encapsulators or Internal Frame Coating with wands for this application.
