Application Tips

A good rue of thumb is: start by adding no more than 5% reducer , then spray a test pattern. If more is needed, keep going until you've reached the desired spray viscosity. Too much can cause runs, blushing or lead to trapped solvents; solvent pop, wrinkling, blushing again, etc.

Safety Information

always weare eye, skin and respiratory protection. Always paint in a well ventilated area away from open flame. Consult MSDS for specific safety warnings.

Customer Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reducer My first time painting a truck and the reducer helped spray the truck like a pro. I tried one side without the reducer and my primer had runs in certain spots

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The reducer worked perfectly for me. Every product I have used has been exactly as advertised. My only disappointment has been when you discontinued Pin up red base coat when I had two fenders and a hood left to paint. I had to buy Single Stage and I am trying to make that work.

Questions & Answers

can I use this with Deltron 2000 base coat?

Asked by: Oldcarstan
if you are using Deltron DBC Urethane Base Coat, the Eastwood Universal Urethane Reducer should work fine. If you are using Deltron DBU it requires PPG Reactive Urethane Reducer only.

How critical is it to use the right temp. activator? For example the atmosphere temp. is 65 and I use a medium reducer. Can you explain it for me, thanks guys.

Asked by: Ed Turbo
If you apply the product mixed with a higher ambient temperature rating activator or reducer it will increase the flash period in between each coat as well as the full cure period.

I am using 2k urethane primer with activator. It is very thick and came out more like a splatter. If starting with 5% reducer, how do I measure that out in your mixing cup? Thank you

what is the mix ratio with the epoxy primer and 2k surfacer. 10% ready to spray?

Asked by: Jon Doe
The Epoxy primer can be reduced up to 20% with this Urethane reducer. The High Build Urethane Primer Surfacer should not be reduced more than 10% (reducing more could effect the build of this primer).
